In this article, Mike Mayock said that: "The reason is that he makes about 80-90% of his plays outside the tackle box." I don't have the video clips with me, but it seems this estimate is way too high. At least when considering the TD passes, he made plenty of them down in the middle or to the outside to Ginn from the pocket.

Anyone can provide a more technical analysis?

I guess I was being too modest in questioning those numbers. You don't complete two-thirds of your passes and 80~90% are outside of the box. That's just impossible. I guess people are getting out of excuse to bring Troy down.

Well, Troy is one of my most favorite players and I just hope he lands in the right team. Good luck to him!

Exactly. The younger TS was still nowhere near 80-90%, but 06 Troy was a pass first, scramble second qb.

More ESPN idiocy:

On NFL Live they just put Troy in the catagory of having questionable character comparing him to Brandon Merriwether and the Florida DT that got kicked off the team. They said with the new conduct rules these players will drop in scouts eyes because they are too much of a risk.

How they can compare him to a player who tried to strike someone with his helmet in a brawl on the playing field or has been caught with drugs is beyond me.

Yes Troy was immature when he arrived on campus(taking money & dissorderly conduct charge), but he has not had a problem in a couple years and has grown into a man. His growth has been remarkable and I 100% think that he will have no problem in the NFL. Like Jim Tressel said he learned as much from Troy as Troy learned from him character wise.

It would be foolish for a franchise to pretend those flags don't exist with Troy. They should look into the incidents, then follow up with staff members. Hopefully Troy has matured to the point where all such behavior is behind him. But now that he has left Tressel's watch, and his money attracts all types of people... his maturity will be greatly tested. Because of this, I think the concerns are worth addressing, and hopefully would then be dismissed.

Holmes & Troy were involved with a brawl, and Troy was caught with illegal benefits. Not drugs, but ultimately much more damaging to his university when he was caught.

A - Because it's a TV show that airs on ESPN, featuring ESPN employees.
B - I don't. I doubt Troy does either.

You are correct. With the hypersensitive scouting world today, that might even classify as something to look into (what type of crowd does troy run with)...
