QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

NFL Draft Order

Here is the draft order pending the playoff of course. Any of the first 4 teams could be looking at a QB. Other possibilities are Houston and Miami at 8/9, St. Louis and Carolina at 13/14 or some of those playoff teams at the bottom of the round where TS would be a good value pick for their future (philly, Baltimore, KC, etc).

I'm no Browns fan, but if they could move down and add a few picks, TS would be a perfect pick in the middle to bottom of the round. Of course, if they get the chance to add Joe Thomas, they really need to.

It will be exciting to see how TS performs at the Sr. Bowl and what his measurements are at the combine. Even more exciting, winning the NC!

no, basically, he is surrounded by studs. thats all he would say

Which is why scouts would like to see how he does facing studs at every position on defense. If they(scouts in general) think he's more a product of talent around him then I'd think they'd care about how he does in a senior bowl and how he compares to the prototypical Brady Quinn.

well, if he wants it, there's his first endorsement contract.

(this burger needs more cheese)

Driven by doubt

Buckeyes' Smith says critics are almost as necessary to his success as belief in teammates

Jan. 4, 2007 12:00 AM The Heisman Trophy wasn't around. But the chip was there, perhaps to remind Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith of where he has been and where some people think he will never go. Or, perhaps it was just there because Smith needs it as much as he needs his Ohio State teammates.

What about Russell. His line dominated ND last night, he had very few pressures and I don't even remember a single sack, to go along with depth at all the talent positions.

I realize the huge difference between 6'6" and 6', but if that's the knock on TS, it should hold true for JR also.

I like a lot of those late first round picks, like NE, Indianapolis, etc.

My main hope is that he goes somewhere that does NOT need him to step up and play the first year.

I also think the NC game will have a bigger effect on his draft position than the senior bowl. The NC game is a real game, big time pressure. How he performs then is how he will perform in the Super Bowl someday!

Go Troy - one more game in the Scarlet and Grey!

I still think he'd be best suited to go to Baltimore or Chicago.

Baltimore would be perfect because it would give him a chance to learn under McNair and take over the starting role in two or so years. Also, the defense there is remarkable and has been relatively consistent since they won the Super Bowl in 2001.

The Dolphins are definitely unhappy with Harrington and the uncertainty of Culpepper pretty much make this the draft we get a QB. I would think we may trade down to about 16 or 17 and pick up best QB available at that time. My guess would be Troy or someone from the Senior All-Star bowls that step up.

stephen a. smith had a teaser going into his show about troy smith, and i thought he just said (though it's hard to understand him) that troy will be on a little bit later in the show.

as an aside, it would be nice if we had a sticky thread or something (calendar-like?) where dates and times of various buckeye-related tv items are to be aired. many times i miss watching something related to the bucks and realize that i likely would have known if it were posted here... or at least posted where i knew to find it.

a thread would suffice, but its length would likely grow too long. any thoughts? perhaps a 4-week or 2-week "calendar," with posts (mentioning small things like, say, the upcoming "quite frankly" piece) that are erased daily?
