QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

"I think for where we are, I think Troy Smith gives us a good opportunity to win games," coach Mike Singletary said Tuesday, per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.http://blogs.sacbee.com/49ers/archives/2010/10/surprise-troy-s.html#ixzz13YaCobJl

Frankly, we're not sure that Joe Montana in his prime would give this Niners team a good opportunity to win games.

Frankly this 49er team should be capable on offense, but it depends on the offensive line and the QB. It's a good position for Troy to be thrust into if the O-line can muster something up. Frank Gore, Vernon Davis, Michael Crabtree, and Ted Ginn? He's got some help, at least better than the options he had in Baltimore.

Fingers crossed.

i'm interested to see how he does. the guy really hasn't gotten a chance at the pro level. i think that he could do well out there considering his great chemistry with ginn. hopefully they can both shut some people up.

In Flacco's rookie year, Smith was the Starter out of camp, until he got sick and lost 25 lbs... then Flacco played well, so Smith was out

It's good to see him et another shot!
