QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

Troy would fit in perfect for a team like Miami, a High risk High reward type of system, where the QB can make plays to win the game, while also relying on the stable running game.
If he finds the right system the sky's the limit.

I do have a feeling though where ever he signs next year he will also have to fight off another high rated draft choice getting paid good money.(draft is deep for the 1st two or three rounds)

A team is going to fall in love with Troy though

He could also replace Pat White as Wildcat QB.

Miami would be a terrible destination..no offense. Chad Henne is playing terrific football, similar to Flacco, and once Ronnie Brown gets healthy, he is their Wildcat RB. Troy needs a fair shot in a competition, and then hope for a offensive coordinator who can best utilize his talents.

Without much thought...

Buffalo
Cleveland
Carolina
Minnesota (whenever Brett retires)
Seattle
St. Louis

All Troy can ask for is an open competition. There is no way Troy is brought in as a franchise QB. He'll likely have to battle against an average incumbant starter, and potentially a middle round rookie QB.

IMO, his best location would be the Carolina Panthers. Great run game, ask the QB to be a game manager, Jake Delhomme is past his prime and a walking turnover, and Kyle Moore is about as average as it gets.

Troy could be a solid game manager, and I think be pretty dynamic with DeAngelo Williams, Jonathon Stewart, and Steve Smith.

Biggest problem is Fox is likely gone, and they may be looking for that "franchise" QB this off-season.

As a sidenote as well, I think the highest liklihood is Troy resigns in Baltimore. The coaches love him, the team loves him, and they will be willing to pay him decent back-up money. Troy will have a tough decesion to make. Stay comfortable in Baltimore, or roll the dice in another city.

Considering I typed one of them, and there's only one other team on lake erie, I thought you could figure it.That slaying the lions is clearly an accomplishment worthy of such a post...

It was a joke. And I said it in response to Troy scoring a TD anyways, not Flacco doing well.

How is he 1/3 against Lake Erie teams though? They beat the Browns twice and the Lions once. I didn't get what you were saying. It should be noted that I have been drinking.

I don't understand how some of you guys don't see the progression. Have you guys just not watched Flacco this year? Other than the game(s) against top-tier NFL defenses? He's looked good. He's young. Troy needs to go somewhere else if he wants a chance to start, because Flacco has a higher ceiling and doesn't deserve to be benched. I hate it too - I love Troy and have a signed jersey hanging on my wall - but this whole argument is completely worthless because he isn't going to get a chance again in Baltimore. There's reason for it..

Troy seems to be in a pretty good place.
He seems to enjoy the team the town and his role. I know the Balto fans appreciate him. I don?t think there are many teams out there as comfortable with their second string QB. If Flax goes down there is a competent, confident guy ready to take over the O.
If he leaves to fight for a starting job he?ll likely have a worse O-line, receivers, running game and defense (and probably incumbant and hot-shot new gry.
If someone offers a sweet deal to fight for the starting job, then go for it. If not, hang out and stay ready.
