Fiesta Bowl = National Championship game this year.

Not exactly. Played in the same location, 1 week later.

That is how they arrived at the 5th BCS game. Each of the BCS bowls gets the NC game in the same rotation as before, but it is an add-on game. The Fiesta (or whatever) goes forward as planned, and then the NC game is played in the same stadium, hosted by the same bowl committee, one week later.

Jan. 8, 2007 - National Championship Game (Glendale, Ariz.)
