And Troy wasn't ready in 2002. There's a reason that he began his Buckeye career as a kick returner as a redshirt freshman in 2003. He really wasn't ready in 2004, but Zwick was so bad (and injured) that Tressel had no choice but to play Troy. After a few rough games, Troy suddenly came of age against Michigan. It happens that way sometimes.I had never seen Justin Zwick or TroySmith play a game in HS but the consensus was JZ was prepared to play QB and Smith wasn't. As far as Martell is concerned ... he has a great high school résumé, but I don't think anyone has "anointed" him as anything. He's going to show up with a black stripe on his helmet just like everybody else.
