QB Tathan Martell (transfer to Miami, transfer to UNLV)

Go back and re-read. I've repeatedly said why it is a bad look. Furthermore, it is a bad look when you have one player who most people consider a potential starter, leave the team because the staff brings in another player that hasn't even been cleared to play yet. Especially with such a swift about face on Martell's part, and compounded by the fact that he has to seek his own waiver, it looks like the staff either wasn't straight with him, causing him to make himself look foolish, and then causing him to leave, or even that they may have just pushed him out the door.

It looks that way - It doesn't mean that it is that way, but it looks that way. You can spin it however you want, but it is a bad look. Especially considering a lot can happen during the off-season.
most people consider a potential starter - Are the coaches included in the group of most people?
staff brings in another player - Can you name 1 coach/staff/fanbase that wouldn't welcome a 5 star player with no known character issues?
he has to seek his own waiver - Martell wants to transfer, Martell wants the waiver, Martell (apparently) is running from competition, but tOSU should apply for his waiver?
I see nothing that indicates the staff wasn't straight with him, did anything to make himself look foolish (I believe he is capable of that entirely on his own), caused him to leave, or pushed him out the door. The only way I see it being a bad look for tOSU is if that someone wants to find a reason for the staff to look bad or if they are the dfbia.

They brought in a player who hasn’t been cleared yet. That doesn’t mean they made Tate leave. In fact, I’m sure they’d have preferred him to stay. He could have still been the starter. Bringing in a player who hasn’t been cleared isn’t the crime. In fact, it’s better than bringing in a player who already has been cleared because then the writing is more on the wall. Tate leaving because of whatever sour grapes he has over the situation doesn’t make Ohio State look bad at all. Only himself. He was in a position where he could have possibly started for Ohio State, to now hoping he gets a waiver on whatever flimsy factoids he wants to hang the decision on, just so he can play for Da U. It’s definitely not a given he even is eligible to play this year. He had no question about being able to play this year at Ohio State. He could have still started. If Fields starts, he can still come in as relief or become the starter due to injury. At Miami? Way less opportunity for any of that with the current waiver status in flux. Then he looks like the idiot. How does that fall on Ohio State?

And when you say “it looks bad.” Is that to you? Is anyone else nationally saying it looks bad? Are recruiting circles talking about it looking bad? Is there a group of friends you know that all think it looks bad? I don’t think it looks bad, so I guess it doesn’t look bad.

Yeah, you don't see it, because you are biased.

Saying something looks bad is always going to be subjective. I don't see why that is so difficult for some people to understand, or why they feel the need to try to shout other people down because they think it looks bad. Comes across very Pedo State like.

And I see nothing that indicates that they WERE straight with him. See how that works?

So you tell someone else they don’t see it because they are biased but then say it looks bad because it’s just how you see it rather than using some obvious criteria like, is anyone else crying foul over it. Like, maybe non biased third parties?

That’s just it. I’m not hearing it from unbiased parties. Are the Buckeys getting trashed by media outlets? Even ones that would be negatively biased towards Ohio State? Maybe the one owned by Disney?
I'm unbiased. I freely admit, I don't know what transpired out of the public eye, and I still think it is a bad look. If anything, I am probably more biased against Tate at this point.
