QB Rob Schoenhoft (official thread)

He has a big arm . Tries to force a few balls at least He did in Iowa City. He will be a really good QB with some seasoning and a good QB coach. He has some things that cant be taught Size and a big arm. I got a scouting report out of Iowa City following camp there. Iowa s first choice was Christensen , But was in a position to only take 1 QB. It would have been great to get 2 but not feasible. You guys got a good one for sure. Main thing for him I have gathered is to not try to Farve too many balls into places he shouldnt have. You guys have got a great class going and have been gracious with it as well. Continued best wishes as both of our supported schools are having a fine recruiting year. I have gained a huge measure of respect this year for OSU fans in general and hope you get good treatment on Iowa boards as well. (other than specific skills I think geography another reason Iowa preferred Christenson) Not saying Rob S. was inferior before someone takes it that way. :)

Can't tell you how excited I am about the possibility of Rob coming to Ohio State.


This kid has everything that you could ask for except a little polish. Coach Daniels and Coach Tressel will provide that. Also, he's not going to be expected to come in and help out right away. He can come in and learn. That's the most important part.

He can go against the best defense in the nation every day in practice and get ready. JZ and TS will light it up for a few years and Rob will be ready to come in and take over. The Buckeyes are putting together something pretty special here. I'm going to go and see Rob on September 17 vs. Westerville North.

It's like they say...you can't coach arm strength. Rob has the measurables and will have some great coaches to mold those measurables into a fine QB. Having Zwick, Smith, Boeckman, and now Schoenhoft in the fold is great for our depth chart. Let's hope either Schlichter or Hartline or both keep the ball rollnig next year.

nice to have you on the board... bring over some Iowa friends... we don't get enough fans from other boards here. It's great getting others perspectives that don't wear "scarlet glasses" like the bulk of us here.

You guys have been putting a nice class together (although I wish you would stay out of Ohio in your recruiting efforts :wink2: )...

I have not seen anything official on his verbal, am I missing something? Or is he doing it today? I think this guy has the tools to one of the best QB the buckeyes have ever had if he learns the system. How nice would it be to see a buckeye QB that can actually throw the ball. CK was a great leader but not a great QB. This kid can be both, IMO.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Schoenhoft originally wanted to announce at the Elite 11 Camp but word of his decision has obviously leaked out. The people over at BSB have not announced anything out of respect to Rob. It bothers me when these recruiting services steal a kid's thunder like this. Kudos to BSB for taking the high road.
