QB Rob Schoenhoft (official thread)

There was some talk about Rob being moved to TE...obviously just about anything is a possibility this early without getting him into the huddle...but a question for those who have seen him:

Is that just some uninformed internet coaches posting conspiracy theories or do you think there is a very real (could go either way) chance he ends up at TE?

Now why would anyone take an Elite 11 QB and put him at TE? I think your "uninformed internet coach" comment hits it right on the head.

Nice to see OSU get a kid from the Cincy area as well. There are exceptions of course - BUT - it seems like the Buckeyes are always recruiting up hill in that part of So. Ohio. I guess the local media has something to do with it, but lets hope this is a sign of things to come.

Welcome aboard Rob, LET'S GO BUCKS!
The Cincy media never fails me. I listen to the local sports channel all day while I'm here at work. When Mister Simpson committed to scUM a few weeks ago, every sports update that was run during the commercials mentioned "Star RB recruit choses Michigan, blah, blah, blah." I have yet to hear one mention of Rob. I hope this is due simply to it being fairly breaking news. The only thing I have seen confirming the commitment is the link from Duane which is premium. When word really gets around, if Rob doesn't get the same hype as Simpson, I will be writing the station.

By contrast, Zwick had the prototypical QB physique, but also had huge numbers coming out of HS.
I agree with the your thoughts on the reasoning as to why some are not enamored with RS. However, HS stats are not always a solid indication either. Every player at this point is being recruited based on potential and RS obviously has a lot of the characteristics of a great college QB. It's the job of the coaching staff to take his talent and mold him into a solid college QB.

I, for one, am ecstatic.

Thought I'd give an update with my frustration with the Cincy media. While driving home last night, I thought I'd call the sports radio station and tell them about the commitment of a local high school athlete. I didn't want to go on air or anything, just give it to them for their sports update. The show producer answers the phone and I tell him about Rob. His response was "OK. We don't watch for that." So I say, "Alright, but you played the hell out of Mister Simpson committing Michigan a couple weeks ago. I think Shoenhoft deserves the same."
