QB Quinn Ewers (transfer to Texas)

The new Texas coach will do everything he can to reverse this one. And he should but as long as our staff remains in place and consistent, hard to believe he would switch.
Texas also has to start actually competing in the Big 12 as well. Sark has a hell of an uphill climb, he has a fanbase expecting him to win, get every top recruit in TX and beat OU. I dont see any of that happening for at least a few years. TCU is a better program, OK state has years where they can get UT, aTm just had success this year and can sell playing in the SEC, OU has lapped UT and thats forgetting about the hungry mid tier teams in Iowa St and K st who also can give UT a run for their money. And all of them fighting for top TX kids, not to mention OSU, Bama, etc etc

if the guy switches thats fine. We’ll be ok. Kid should make the best decision for him based on what he and his family want. I dont think he will change at this point but not concerned either way.

As far as I know, Sark has zero Texas ties.

This.

It’s not like him committing here is some leap of faith. Ryan Day has as good a resume with QBs as anyone in the business. I fully expect Sarkisian to make Quinn priority 1, but he’s putting from the rough.

Watching Justin Fields go 22-28 for 385 and 6 TDs on the biggest stage last night has to be fairly compelling case backing up the recruiting pitches coming his way from Ohio State.

I wonder what Sarkisian will be able to put on the field next year at Texas that might stack up in terms of proof of player development and results?

It should be an uphill battle for him in that sense, although being the home state school obviously doesn’t hurt.

The last UIL realignment helped Southlake Carroll a bit. They were moved to a different region. So they will play Duncanville in the state semis rather than the regional final. That has been their major hurdle the last few years.

"I've heard the news," he said. "I'm rocking with my guys at Ohio State. Obviously, success comes into account and they've had a lot of success. I want to be a part of something like that."

Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian is rumored to be Texas' next coach.

"I've visited with Sark a few times just to chop it up," Ewers said. "He's a cool guy."

This doesn't sound like a kid contemplating flipping back...
