QB Lincoln "Dakota" Kienholz (Official Thread)

ehhh...looking back with the benefit of hindsight, I think it's pretty obvious the bowl prep was more of a "let's get this over with" thing. It pretty clear there were going to be big time coaching changes and a whole change in philosophy within the program and there seemingly has been. Being more aggressive in the portal didn't just happen either.

Should he have gotten more reps? Absolutely. But, for lack of a better term, they saw it as a meaningless game and more or less mailed it in....
If true, which was pretty apparent, it makes Days’ pressers pretty sad. “Going there to win”. Still doesn’t make sense that you wouldn’t take advantage of the extra practice time.

I agree. And fuck that.

Agreed. Pretty awful situation that I'm woefully trying to ignore. But the real tragedy in it all was not getting this kid a real shot...I honestly didn't give af about the outcome of the game like most fans, but we couldn't done better right here.

Yeah, read somewhere that tOSU only used about half of their practices for the bowl. With a newbie QB 1 & 2! would have thought that those practices would have been important - oh wait. They were, tOSU merely failed to utilize them. While we certainly don't know why Day (or ?) decided not to practice more, something like that decision leads those of us with fertile (or wicked) imaginations for the reason. Anyway, the decision was proven to be a wrong one, based on bowl results. But looking at the glass half full, most of the players that could have left to be drafted stayed, and that turned out (on paper at this time, at least), to be a wonderful decision. Go Bucks!

Whatever happened, it’s on the coaches, not the players. My guess is that a decision will be made after the spring game and there will be some QBs looking at the portal.
Remember 04 Alamo bowl? Troy was not available. Zwick was hurt. Tressel put Ginn under centre to save RS for Boeckman. That looked unprepared to me as well. We dominated that game, so no one cared.

This year’s bowl game reminded me of that game, with different circumstances of course. It’s indeed odd Lincoln looked so out of place.

I have a gut feeling that this kid will be in the Heisman conversation, whether at Ohio State or somewhere else. That the coaches put him into the Bowl game so unprepared is so incredibly disappointing, if all this is true.

Not that I know anything, but I don't think that will be at Ohio State.
However, at Ohio State or not, I hope you're right.
I just hope he doesn't beat Ohio State, wherever he ends up.

Believe it's been pointed out, but I'll reiterate. Dakota boy had been committed to Washington, where DeBoer was HC. Now that he's at Alabama, methinks he's keeping an eye on Keinholz, watching to see if he'll get bypassed, and be ready to travel/transfer. It's inevitable that tOSU and Bama will clash in the Final 14, and would be a real coup for DeBoer if the dagger would be Keinholz. Just sayin'
