QB Lincoln "Dakota" Kienholz (Official Thread)

Looks like he has a NIL deal with Tommy John........

I was his BIGGEST fan coming out of HS.......was just shocked at how ill-prepared he was when entering against Mizzou. It was shocking......still don't know who to actually put that on, but I believe Kienholz has a MASSIVE ceiling. Kid is as talented as any QB in country when taking into account his athleticism which is freakish.....

Agree, but he needs polishing and I don't think OSU has the type of time to give him. 5-10yrs ago LK could mature at OSU and find PT. Idk if that's the case with Howard this year and Sayin and Noland after. LK at best can be a solid backup at OSU, IMO. The competition will get even harder in '25.

This type of player and situation is a casualty of the portal...
How much will teams develop their talent vs grabbing someone who is closer to ready off the portal
True, but how many wins can a HC get, and his job possibly saved due to that transfer QB? I think you can win with both scenarios as the NC last year featured a transfer QB and a former 5star who was developed at his original college.

I'm not counting this kid out, at all. It looks like he may've been the victim of weak developmental coaching, but he's had a year in the system and a ton of talent. My guess is that Howard wins out this year, Keinholz beats out Brown for the next (assuming that Brown is still here), we lose either Sayin or Noland, and the one that stays takes over from Keinholz.

I guess it all depends on who put in the work over the winter. I must admit that I am not at all impressed with Brown. Keinholz didn't appear to have been at all well-prepared in the bowl game. I think that there is a good possibility that he will be the starting quarterback by game 3.

Believe that getting Brown ready for Mizzu was primary goal. However, some of those reps should have gone to Keinholtz . It appeared from his play that he was an afterthought. Just don't understand the thinking, when as they say ' you're one play from being the guy'. Well, that one play happened, and it looked like K wasn't used to the speed of the D, and as we all know, the O was as porous as a seive. Maybe during practice, the D comes half-a**ed after the QB, so when it is a game, he isn't used to the speed (SEC speed) of the D. Dunno, just sorting thru the facts. It will be interesting to watch the development, and whether the two 5*s get the tweener reps, and Brown and Will get the most. Didn't DeBoer at Bama have his commitment at Washington before he became a Buckeye? Points to ponder.

ehhh...looking back with the benefit of hindsight, I think it's pretty obvious the bowl prep was more of a "let's get this over with" thing. It pretty clear there were going to be big time coaching changes and a whole change in philosophy within the program and there seemingly has been. Being more aggressive in the portal didn't just happen either.

Should he have gotten more reps? Absolutely. But, for lack of a better term, they saw it as a meaningless game and more or less mailed it in....
