QB Kirk Herbstreit (Frosted Quips)

Jake draws a line in the sand. Herbie is on one side. Which side are YOU on??

(4th generation OSU grad just wondering here)

I didn't draw a line on anything. I just find it comical that Buckeyes, and wannabe Buckeyes, lose their shit over a Buckeye's comments on TV.

But yeah, I'm drawing a line in the sand. :roll1:

I'm not "hung up" on anything. :roll1:

If you never went to OSU and feel the need to call an OSU alum a "fake Buckeye" because you experienced butt hurt watching Game Day, then I am going to laugh my ass off at you. All day, every day. :slappy:

Whether or not you're part of that crowd is your decision, not mine.

Ok

it would sure seem you are pretty worked up about the use of "fake Buckeye" and the two or three guys you seem to be most pissed at for using it.

I guess "hung up" is a semantics issue as well

You do realize this entire argument is horseshit because absolutely no one is “butt hurt” over Spielman, Galloway, Smith, and every other Buckeye on TV not being a “cheerleader”, right?

Ok, he’s a real Buckeye who is a douche canoe. Are we all happy now? Govern yourselves accordingly.

No, not really. The Herbie butt hurt is funny as fuck. When it comes from wannabes, and fans of other schools, it's even more hilarious.

"I'm a Buckeye!"...only during football season, and as long as they're not playing Syracuse.

But yeah, I'm the problem. Okay.

We seem to know other alums on TV that can be critical of the university and not come off as an asshat. Herbie went over the top with the criticism of the offense and the tattoo event. When you are in the public eye you have to be measured in your responses and make sure you are 100% correct. Herbie did not do that but again that was almost a decade ago so maybe time can heal old wounds. I don’t subscribe that one had to attend the university to voice an opinion and saying so makes us sound narrow minded and elitist.

Did I say you were a problem? I said the argument was horseshit, big difference.

Three guys who will never be Buckeyes, and are given a hilarious amount of respect on this board, calling an actual Buckeye a "fake".

Yeah, I guess I'm "hung up" on it. Guilty as charged.

Yeah, sure. Cowboys fans who hate Troy Aikman are justified in their butt hurt too, as opposed to being hyper sensitive fans who expect him to be a cheerleader.

But yes, Herbie is the problem. Rationalize it for the guys who only give a shit about Ohio State during football season. He's a "fake Buckeye", unlike them. :roll1::slappy:

so you just don't like those particular guys

that's what I thought this was more about

Yes and no. Anyone who never attended the school, only gives a shit for a few months late in the year, and calls people who lived the experience "fake", will always be on my list. It's not an exclusive club.

So as long as they don't call him "fake" they can call Art Schlichter anything they want to i would assume?

I mean after all he lived the experience so he's due some respect

That makes about as much sense as calling you a fake walrus because you have an avatar of one. They are entitled to their opinion whether they went to OSU or not. I know several folks who went here and do not uphold the standards of a buckeye like a certain former buckeye qb (and I am not talking about Herbie).
