This comes under the heading, "Why lie when the truth can be just as deceiving?"

I have no doubt that S-E-C-SPiN is thrilled that the ratings for the CFP will be great for the next 3 games. They will make a ton of $ off of those games. After that, they have no financial interest in 3 of the 4 remaining teams and will go back to trying to devalue those teams while attempting to inflate the value of the teams in which they have a financial interest.

"This is a ratings bonanza. So if you’re going to accuse us of anything, you should accuse us of wanting Ohio State, wanting Notre Dame and these big brands. If you knew anything about ratings, that’s who you’d want." Uh, Kirk, if you knew anything about business you would know you take the very short term windfall that drops in your lap while at the same time put all your true effort into increasing your brand, which does not include the B1G or Notre Lame, and harming your competitor, which does include the B1G and ND.

TL;DR - Herbie is an idiot.
