You know what? Chicken butt.
Based on his body of work in The Game I’ll take Haskins every year thank you.

Absolutely, I think people's expectations are way to high. QB's that run like Vick and do everything else like Brady just don't exist. Fields is a better throwing version of Vince Young and we know what he accomplished at the college level.
Since Feldman didn't actually provide the stats I spent some time parsing the NCAA stats sites and pulled the 3rd Down Offense Efficiency % for all teams back to 2005 (team stats are no longer archived for earlier teams; or the function has been broken over time).
- Ohio State's 58.1% is indeed the highest in 15 years. And it's the highest in the Big Ten since 2011 (Russell Wilson's Wisconsin Badgers).
- A grand total of 30 FBS teams (out of a pool of more than 1600) in the past 15 years have had a 3rd down conversion rate greater than 53%. Or about 1.9% of all FBS teams over 15 seasons. 1-in-3 are, unsurprisingly, triple option teams (the service academies and Georgia Tech), Big-XII Air Raid teams, or Mountain West run-and-shoot or Air Coryell teams. Removing these "systems" further reduces the odds of breaking the 53% cutoff threshold to about 1.1%.
- As a predictor of national championship success, only one team from the list won a title (2010 Auburn), while two others were runner-up (2005 USC, 2018 Alabama).
- When you look at the remaining 18 or 19 teams that make this list, you begin to see why this stat is appropriate for Justin Fields' thread. The QBs of these teams include Andrew Luck, Teddy Bridgewater, Colt McCoy, Russell Wilson, Johnny Manziel, Matt Leinart, Cam Newton, Tim Tebow, Colin Kaepernick, Chase Daniel, and Tua Tagovailoa. Obviously, to play yourself onto this list of college QBs is pretty ridiculous.

Apparently sprained his MCL last week during the PSU game and injured it again.
Still threw for 300 yards.
That's my quarterback.
