QB Justin Fields (2019-20 B1G Off POY, 2020 Silver Football, 2019 B1G CCG MVP, Pittsburgh Steelers)

Fields credited with 2 interceptions today. The first a Hail Mary when the coach should have tried a 55-yard FG on the last play of the first half.

The second on the last platy of the game, where his WR Mooney was on his back and had the ball knocked down to him, he gets both hands on what would be the winning TD, and he bobbles it up high enough for a defender to grab it,

Oh well, hopefully that will help get a better draft choice for Da Bears.

Carolina won so they actually lost draft status.

The 1st INT was a drop too. That should be corrected.

the for sale sign is up on JF. Bears need a reset for the billionth time. Hard to root for.
That game wasn’t on Fields. He’s actually been playing pretty well. The Oline is a sieve, the play calling is horrendous as are his receivers.

I’m sure you are right that the Bears will move on and that’s probably best for Fields as well. A lot of times a QBs success depends on who drafts them.

The hilarious thing is the generational prospect. Caleb williams hasa lot of the same issues as Fields with maybe a slightly stronger arm but lower over all athleticism.. so I'm sure that will go well

I’m not convinced the Bears will move on. Selfishly I hope they don’t, since I live in Chicagoland.

They showed a graphic during the game today. For his first 17 starts, he had 17 TDs. For his most recent 17 starts, he had 33 TDs. His QB rating also went up significantly.

I hope they upgrade the talent around him, and he avoids holding onto the ball too long, which seems to be the cause of most of his problems.

You think he has a stronger arm than Justin? No way. He has been more accurate and is a pretty good athlete I'll give him that but JF has a cannon.
Fields is the second fastest player ever to 5000 passing yards and 2000 rushing yards, if Chicago gets rid of him, he'll be in the Super Bowl with a better team at some point.

Give him Harrison Jr and a few new dudes on the OL.

Yes they will. They can bring in a rookie on the cheap.

They’d be the Bears if they didn’t.

Fields needs to rid himself of the Bears. They will never be a top franchise.

And it would be quite unprecedented for Fields to leave and become a top QB.

Look at NFL draft picks over the past 10-15 years. can you find another top pick QB who was given every chance to succeed (start for multiple years) and then not succeed, and become a star elsewhere? The nearest thing might be Jared Goff and nobody would confuse him as being a star.
It won't happen. CJ Stroud's 2023 year will be better than anything Fields has. Look at Stroud's weapons - none of them are stars. And yet, he wins. Nico Collins is a no-name scUMer. And look at him with a great QB.
