Wrong glass, Sir.
First I've heard of that.
It's like Lenin said, man. Ask yourself who benefits from Fields sliding down the qb order. It wasn't Barbie who was already the #1 pick regardless.

Agree. Leaf at least got four years in the league… Manziel got two. I’d take it further, Leaf has actually shown some humility and accountability in the last two years talking about his problems growing up and how he simply wasn’t equipped for San Diego (and that’s even before he was introduced to drugs and alcohol on team trips to Vegas). He routinely hosts Rich Eisens show and it’s always great. Manziel, on the other hand, is still a giant douche.I think Mormon Manziel is more fitting plus it has alliteration
Like really 49ers? You took Trey Lance?
The talk all during the lead up was his ceiling was higher than Fields. I was like WTF are you watching?I caught heat on this board for saying that, after the NU game in the B1G title, that Justin was going to fall a bit.
Not that I agreed with it, I didn't and still don't. But hype and momentum are big factors for a good deal of these organizations. Even if the hype is unjustified, all it takes is a small room of people to begin making others believe it; Not
all that dissimilar from a type of conversion disorder.
Trey Lance struggled to read a MIKE replacement on a drag/settle his rookie season. One of the most fundamental passing concepts you can execute. I remember watching that and going "So, WHY this kid?".
Anywho, back to Fields. He's playing better now that his legs have been unleashed. But he's taking hits you don't want a 10 year QB to take. God willing he gets out of this season healthy, as questionable as the Bears defense can be at times, they need to invest the better part of their draft capital and cap room into their OL and skill players. Justin will never be able to grow as a passer otherwise. Seattle was only bailed out so many times by Russell Wilson before he just couldn't do it any longer and the Oline got him crunched. Likewise for Burrow his rookie season and last year. As a result, the Bengals wisely addressed needs in the trenches. Chicago would do well to take a similar path.
The NFC North is in flux. If the Bears want any chance of matching the rise the Lions have shown, they need to get the firepower in which to do so.
