QB Justin Fields (2019-20 B1G Off POY, 2020 Silver Football, 2019 B1G CCG MVP, Pittsburgh Steelers)

It's not worth it risking him at this point. I know he wants to get that QB rushing record, but the Bears need to sit him and tank the last games. It's all about getting him some help at WR and on the OL right now. Get the 1st or 2nd pick.

I’m a casual Bears fan mainly because of Justin.

I think the new GM and coach have done a fantastic job.

I was leery after their defensive heavy draft last year. Almost like they were setting Justin up to fail.

But they played it perfectly. Playing the long game without crushing JF’s confidence.
Sold off their few defensive assets for picks.
Got rid of almost all high priced vets for cap space. They play hard and are in the running for the top pick.
The coach has installed a run heavy offense that protects Justin.
Now they have a legit QB on a rookie deal, draft and cap space.
I think they are a playoff team next year.
Lot of help needed on D.
Another WR and some OL help for the O.

Bears have a history of shedding high priced, experienced defensive stars for draft picks and cap space.
They also have a history of building defense through the draft.

They haven't shown the willingness to use their cap space for offensive talent. I hope they will this time, but that would be a first.

It's always amazing to me how NFL teams over think things.

Why would anyone pass on Justin Fields who put up better stats than any of the QBs while also playing at a bigger school playing better opponents?

Like really 49ers? You took Trey Lance?

You always hear about how teams draft based on traits. He has prototypical traits. I'm a 49ers fan so I watch Lance and I have no idea how you look at those 2 guys and decide Lance is the better prospect.

Interesting take here. It kind of makes the argument that the WR talent at Ohio State almost makes it harder to adjust to the NFL where receivers aren't getting that level of separation and a QB needs to trust his receivers to make plays in tight quarters.

Also, more evidence of his lack of leadership skills. Man, the Jets were so right to take Mormon Leaf instead.

This is an entirely new front office and coaching staff.
