QB Justin Fields (2019-20 B1G Off POY, 2020 Silver Football, 2019 B1G CCG MVP, Pittsburgh Steelers)

hopefully he's not hurt too bad. sounds like separated non-throwing shoulder.

currently think the Bears have #3 pick in the draft. opportunity to get a ton of value from someone wanting to move up for their QB, or go take one of the stellar d-linemen like Jalen Carter.

Might consider trading back for more picks and take a top-notch WR. Just an outsider's perspective, but Mooney is pretty good and Claypool may develop into a viable option, but Justin needs a top target to throw to. Also, an OT would be a wonderful idea...maybe reunite him with Parris Johnson.

They need two OL at least. A Humphrey would be a home run. The Bears center is unreliable..Fields has changed up blocking more than once. Great center and Paris would be great.

For sure. They also have the most open cap space of any team in the league as well (I think over $100M). So it will be interesting to see what they try to seal in free agency vs the draft. I'd feel better with adding proven veterans on the line and getting defensive line and weapons in the draft. There's no great WR out there in free agency market that is obviously better than Mooney at WR1.

Mooney is ok from a talent standpoint but apologized numerous times during the season for running wrong routes.

No matter the talent if you can't count on a guy to be where the route says he sould be at x time it makes it hard.

Bears need to take Paris Johnson or Peter Skoronski. Solve LT for a decade+.

The offensive shift from the Bears has (temporarily) alleviated a few things.

- Pass pro issues
- Questions at skill position
- QB/WR chemistry
- Justin's early deficiencies as a passer

Credit to the Bears coaching staff for the run and read/RPO focus approach they've brought to generate some offense. Obviously, the AC injury isn't good and I'm hoping it isn't significant for JF. By reducing his hits in the pocket and limiting his passing, they've exposed him to more as a runner. Sadly it looks to be taking an early toll.

Front office needs to invest resources in the Oline, another skill player and coaches need to help Justin grow as a passer. He, nor any other QB for that matter, will survive with long term success taking volume rushing attempts.

And miss me with the Lamar Jackson noise. There are exceptions to rules and even he has exploitable limitations.

Bears QB Justin Fields says he has separated left shoulder

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields said Wednesday that he is dealing with an injury to the acromioclavicular joint in his left shoulder and will evaluate how he feels later this week before determining whether he'll play against the New York Jets.

"It's a separated shoulder with partially torn ligaments," Fields said, describing his injury. "Basically, like an AC joint. That's my understanding of it."

The quarterback landed on his left shoulder after he was tackled by Atlanta Falcons cornerback Dee Alford on a first-down run with 1:47 to play in Chicago's 27-24 loss at Atlanta. The Bears continue to classify him as day-to-day and are leaving the door open for Fields to play Sunday.

"We'll see where it goes, and then when we get to tomorrow, we'll know more, and I think by Friday we'll know more," coach Matt Eberflus said. "It's kind of one of those things, you work through the week, and we'll see where it is and hopefully we're getting better and better every single day."

The Bears held a walk-through practice Wednesday. Fields' projected status on the injury report was classified as limited, although the quarterback did say he threw during Wednesday's session and felt pain in his injured shoulder.

"The pain is pretty high today just with throwing and stuff like that, finishing throws, just the pain with that," Fields said. "I'm just going to work throughout the week to get that motion down, try to get that pain down a little bit and see what happens Friday night, Saturday. See how it goes."

he quarterback said he was not sure whether he would have to wear a harness or brace on his left shoulder to play.
