QB Julian "Just" Sayin (National Champion)

I have no problem with playing Texas early on. It gives us a chance to size up the competition and if things don’t go our way (Ala Oregon 24), it gives us something to build towards. I’m all for hardening the team up for the stretch run. It’s non conference so it really won’t impact us that much if we lose. A two loss OSU team will get in again.

I think next year has the potential to be a sneaky good season. As fans we just need to know that we won’t see a finished product going in. It’s going to take some time for the team to gel. When they do, I pity the fools who draw us in December, Sayin will be a force by then.
that won't stop some of the mutants in the fanbase (which will grow now, sadly) from screeching about Day getting lucky and how it was a fluke and and and and....

Fun times ahead I'm sure.

Ha yeah but what if we lose 2 more?

Let’s say we lose to Texas, lose another big ten conference game, and then lose in the conference championship. That’d suck pretty royally.

Basically Penn state from this year except they never play anyone good non conference
Ha yeah but what if you didn't think of the negative at every turn?

I think that record gets you in the playoff. Big 10 runner up gets in even with 3 losses especially since at least 2 of the losses are against top 3 teams.

Try and temper expectations for now though

We definitely need to be careful there, fans have historically effed that up. Sayin has arm talent like I haven't seen at the HS level since Ewers...but albeit a good run at UT, he did not end up the next Peyton Manning.

That said, I am excited to see what this kid can do. He had a full year to work with these WRs and has rapport, plus he's gotta feel confident (but meanwhile pushed by other competition) about being the guy. It will be a competition, but sometimes a guy can just focus on the job if they know they are likely the guy. Sayin just needs to do the work and I think we will have a fun show to watch.

I want to keep this thread about Sayin, but I do think the OL will help him out in his progression. Montgomery, Siereveld, Tegra and Hinzman are no joke, plus I feel good on the OTs we got in the Portal. Also our TEs are blocking so well, and Max coming in as a receiver helps big time.

One thing I would add is that Judkins would be a huge help and not just in rushing yards...the guy can block. That will really help Julian out if he comes back.

Maybe mute me or something man this is a pretty mild take and this isn’t negative. We lost two games this year with a really really good team. We lose a lot and it’s hard to win football games.

Big ten isn’t what it was even 3-4 years ago. Just my opinion there’s no reason to play Texas when you’re likely to play Texas in the playoffs anyways.

We played SEVEN top ten games this year with our terrible OOC. My opinion we don’t need an eighth. Not saying we need Akron, Buffalo, and Western Michigan. But maybe BC, Colorado, Oregon State etc would be more appropriate.

We don’t know the non conference for the Alabama/UGA tilts yet but if we draw Oregon, TCUN, Penn State, Washington, USC, and Wisconsin that’d be a tough ask along with Alabama OOC.

Don't put your takes out there if you can't handle responses to them. I'm not targeting you. Stop with the victim bullshit.

Possibly. They didn’t do it this year with Ole Miss who should’ve been in over a few teams if we are being honest with ourselves.

Anyways would’ve been nice for Sayin to have an Akron to open the season that’s for sure!
