The most talked about LSU player wasn't even at SEC Media Days

What isn't under debate is Burrow's confidence, both in himself and in his abilities.

Noted trash-talker Devin White got to experience Burrow's confidence first-hand when the two made a one-sided wager recently.

White said one day he told Burrow that he was going to catch an interception once fall camp rolls around. The confident Burrow replied, "You will not catch a pick on me. I will not throw any interceptions."

Sensing an opportunity to make a bet, White told Burrow to put his money where his mouth was.

Burrow responded, "If you catch an interception, I'll give you $100."

White asked what would happen if he didn't get the interception and Burrow said, "You're good. That just means I didn't throw any picks."

Yes and no. They pro Joe crowd will always wonder about what if, while the pro Dwayne crowd will root for Joe as the LSU QB and be even happier that Dwayne is the starter at tOSU

Great observation, Crump's Bro! Great TV, with Finebaum extolling Joe B's great play, and what a great SEC QB he is. Would love to see his face prune up when he says that! AND when he throws for four TDs against 'Bama, wow!

URBAN MEYER AND JOE BURROW REMAIN CLOSE DESPITE BURROW NARROWLY LOSING QUARTERBACK BATTLE AND TRANSFERRING TO LSU

Urban Meyer opened up a bit about Ohio State's offseason quarterback competition during Big Ten Media Days, revealing just how close it was and how tight the battle was between Joe Burrow and Dwayne Haskins, and how close he remains to Burrow despite the transfer.

"Joe Burrow, the last two weeks of spring practice, did about everything he could to win that spot," Meyer said. "I really haven't talked much about this, but it was right there."

Obviously, Burrow did not win the job in the spring and ultimately chose to transfer to LSU, where he'll be eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer – a rule Meyer said he fully supports.

Meyer said communication was open through the entire process and he thinks all parties did a great job handling the situation.

"Joe and his family and I had open conversation all the way throughout, including conversation after the season about how we're going to handle the spring," Meyer said. "Ryan Day did a phenomenal job. Even Joe and his family were very gracious and thankful."
