A transfer makes no sense.

The only one I could see leaving is Brax, and I don't think he's going anywhere.

Thank you. There's no known reason to think that J.T. would even consider transferring.

J.T. Barrett’s high school coach takes jabs at Texas QB situation

One of of those three, J.T. Barrett, played his high school football in the state of Texas. Barrett’s coach in Wichita Falls (Tex.), Marc Bindel, discussed the recruitment of his former player with the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and didn’t hold back in criticizing the flagship football program in his state.

“I was, at the time, a big Texas fan,” Bindel said. “I wasn’t really happy with the way (Barrett) got treated. I felt like they mislead him a little bit and they chose to go Tyrone Swoopes and not offer J.T. I don’t know if J.T. would have gone there had he not gotten offered, but Texas, I don’t feel like handled the situation the right way.

“They don’t have a quarterback and Ohio State has three.”

One, ouch. Two, there are a couple of caveats to the criticism.

I think so too. Of the three, he clearly goes through progressions the best and is best at making the right reads on the zone read (notwithstanding what appeared to be a missed read that got him hurt). He is also IMO, the best at putting playmakers in position to get YAC by being on-time and accurate in the short and medium-range passing game. Finally, I'll even make the bold claim that he's the best runner: Even though he's less gifted with his legs than Braxton, I think that he has better situational awareness, is better with ball security, and is not as far behind in terms of explosiveness relative to Braxton or power relative to Cardale as announcer types and other fans might think.

I do think that one big edge that Cardale has over him is a short memory: JT seems like a perfectionist, and when he screws up it seems like it takes him another bad series or two before he gets back on track. I'd like to see him raise his mental game in that respect and expect that he will.

All that said, I'm ecstatic to see the Buckeyes roll with any of them.
