QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

Went back and watch the last interception....ugh - he missed the big hole ro run which a truck could have driven through :-( Then the throw was way off - either mis-communication with the receiver or way under threw. He will learn from this and develop a better pocket presence.

If youre talking about the one to Corey Smith that was an obvious miscommunication.

I am not sure who the receiver was; here is the video that 11 Warriors posted. At the 8th second mark, he could have ran the ball for a bunch of yards. I guess hindsight is always 20/20. It's frustration talk, that's all. I know he will be fine with some more experience/exposure.

May be Braxton would have seen the whole open up and ran, who knows.

While it was a very ill-advised throw and he could have picked up some yards...would he have picked up 16? Those holes close up pretty quick if you are not Braxton Miller. Because if he does not get the first down, the clock is running at 40-45 seconds with no timeouts and you are sending in the play from the sidelines on 4th down. Not to mention it looks like that hole opens up because he begins to throw the ball and the DT crashes down. In any event, the big issue is the miscommunication...looking back on the game, that seems to be most of the problem but I can live with that (considering how young the team is) way more than if it was a lack of talent or effort. We have the talent and effort...especially with J.T. Barrett I might add. We'll be ok but there are definitely going to be significant moments of frustration for us along the way.

This is what the film room is for...

This is what S&C is for.

Not trying to be a smart-ass, just pointing out that he's young and has good upside. He'll learn, he'll get bigger and faster. He'll be fine.

A combination of new QB and new Oline learning on the job makes for rough times ahead.

Yep but it's a growing process that has to happen for this program to continue to move forward. Now we, as fans, either have to buckle up and enjoy the ride and continued growth or just shut down and stop watching for the next year or so.

@BUCKYLE is right. This is what happens college sports. Things are cyclical. Sometimes that means needing to rebuild a bit.

Of note. Texas is going with the redshirt freshman Tyrone Swoopes this week. I believe when Texas was recruiting QBs, it came down to either Swoopes or JT Barrett. So it will be interesting to see how Swoopes does in his first start behind a weak O line. A lot of Texans wanted JT.

He started last week in their 41-7 loss to BYU. 20/31, 176 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT. 7 carries for 7 yards.

This is Ohio State. We don't rebuild, we reload. -- Stanley Jackson --and probably a host of others.

But I digress. I actually agree completely with your post. New QB and new OL means some losses are in order along the growth curve.

The crazy thing is J.T. could set the all time Ohio State record for passing yards in a season if he keeps up the pace he's on. He needs to average 238 passing yards a game to set the record and through 3 games he's averaging 252.

Yes it was KSU and yes everything changes when we play more competent teams but I for one hope we see more 5 wide than base this year. I think JT is smart and I think the 5 wide allows him to see the field better.

I don't take much stock in today's game but of all the crap teams we've played over the years no one has thrown for 300 for 8 or so years

Exactly the kind of game we needed after a toug loss to Va Tech. Kudos all around.

BTW - JT reminds me some of Joe Germain the way he throws. Joe did not have the strongest arm but he had great timing and was accurate. Thankfully JT is a better runner than JG was.
