QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

For any dipshit questioning whether we'd have won the title in 2014 had JT not got hurt, ask this one instead: "Would we have even been in consideration for the playoffs had Cardale been the starter all year?" Cardale's post-season run was legendary, but we all know it was due in great part to the opposition having zero game film on him and subsequently their over-adjusting to his arm strength (especially Wisconsin) which opened up the running game for Zeke to go ape-shit. Do you really think that we'd have been 11-1 in the 2014 regular season with Cardale as the starter all season?

Both can be true. We don't get there in 2014 without JT but we don't win it with him either.

It's really not. It's beyond unfair to the kid.
Oh I don't disagree with that but we won those games because we ran Zeke a ton and had a good vertical game. With JT you just never know how they would've handled the splits between himself and the running backs.

JT is the best QB ever to have played here but I will admit that the way we used him over his past four years was sort of ridiculous. Just so many called runs for JT.

I'm amazed at the guys toughness because his body has to be sore from now 4 years of being run like a RB.

And you know this how?
I can't say for sure but at least Cardale could put the ball in a position where his receivers could make plays. JT doesn't give his receivers much of a chance on the deep balls. I think a lot of the success in 2014 for JT came from Herman calling plays that could put him a position to succeed.

The problem with Cardale in 2015 was that he lost Devin Smith, Michael Thomas, and Jalin Marshall to make plays for him

Then the questions should point at the staff and not JT.

At least two of the TD catches Devin Smith made were essentially jump balls where he had to stop...Devin would've caught those balls had you, I, or BN27 threw them.

I give him a pass last night cause he was 6 days off of surgery and I'm not sure I've ever seen him miss that many wide open throws before. It was bad and it might have cost us the CFP and almost cost us the game. It was also probably a preview of what we wI'll try to do on offense next year.

If Dixon catches the TD pass we go up 31-14 iirc. Totally different game at that point.

QBs depend on their receivers to help them. Too many dropped balls did not do JT any favors. Receivers have to step up and make plays on less than perfect throws. And maybe JT tired in the second half from all the abuse his body has taken recently. JT probably should have been spelled by Haskins in the second half.

The guy's strength is running, specifically the read option.

His weakness is throwing the ball downfield.

And you question Urban Meyer's judgement for using him as a runner.

Do I understand that correctly?
