QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

Gee....wouldn't it be more refreshing--per chance more constructive--to discuss the Draconian laws rooted in Federal posturing that decree an 18-20 year old is adult enough to vote or serve in the military but not adult enough to drink?
But at no age should someone legal, or not legal, to drink be operating a vehicle. I suppose we could have those conversations, but it would have zero bearing on the issue around J.T. Barrett.

Yep. His age should have zero to do with what he did. An 18-year-old drunk driver is no better than a 60-year-old drunk driver.

Whatever word you want to use to describe it, a leader doesn't just quit because things aren't all sunshine and kittens.
There's a difference between "quitting" and "removing yourself from a position of appointment". He can still play and still try to lead by example on the field (and hopefully off the field, by the way he recovers from his mistake), but once you make a mistake that calls in question your ability to hold a position of appointment, then accepting full responsibility and stepping down from said position is not "quitting"...

Didn't something like this happen to one of the Belisari brothers way back when? I can't remember the punishment he received. Similar?
Steve got busted 2 weeks before the Michigan game and was suspended for 1 game. Scott McMullen got the start for Steve's suspended game against Illinois...a game we lost. Craig Krenzel got the start the next week against Michigan, but I forget how that went.

So to clear this up, JT will be suspended for the game this weekend(as of right now) and be liable to pay for the tuition for this semester(assuming he doesn't earn it back) but would be available to play the Illinois game through the rest of the season? Also I would like to see Collier get some PT if we do have a good game this weekend and get some backups in. Who knows we may have another 3rd string gem on our hands.
Kenny Guiton made me a sucker for the backups. Would love to see Collier take a few snaps. Maybe in mop up, or if CJ's helmet comes off for.

Seems like a million years ago. Thanks for the refresher.
I remember at the time being happy about it....because I was a little kid and Steve Bellisari sucked. Then I felt bad, because Steve was recruited as a safety and he was kind of forced into the starting QB role. Was it really his fault that he sucked at a secondary position?

But then Craig Krenzel came into our lives and everything was fine.

I was (mistakenly?) under the impression he was under the limit but was cited because he was a "minor" under the influence (thus the misdemeanor). Would he have been charged if he was an "adult"?

Yeah, you're right........nobody (at least myself) has seen Collier play yet! Would love to get the chance. You have to assume he has "the stuff", or else he wouldn't even be there. Thanks for bringing that up.

It would be smart to get him some PT. we've seen our share of injuries to know that the next man up needs to be prepared. I don't think Collier has gotten any significant playing time either. I don't know if Braxton is healthy to throw like he used to be able to I wouldn't want to see him re-injure that shoulder again playing QB because of what he means to a Recieving group that is already a couple guys short now from injuries.
