QB Dwayne Haskins Jr. (All B1G, B1G OPOY, Silver Football, Rose Bowl MVP, R.I.P.)

That's the problem with this board. I CLEARLY said Haskins is "not that much better" than Herbert.

Don't they teach reading at tOSU anymore?

Haskins is, as I've said, a bigger risk. He'll have something like 15 college games under his belt. That's hardly a proven, generational talent.

That's all I've said.
How many times have you watched Herbert? You just parrot some draft analysis like it’s gospel, not to promote Herbert but to degrade Haskins. We get it you got the trolling response you wanted. Whatever.

No, my problem is that Haskins is still VERY VERY green to be calling him "generational." He's a good, young QB who had a tremendous year. He has great talent, enormous =potential= as a QB.

This "generational" tag after 15 games? I saw threads during this season with people calling for Martelll when Haskins wasn't willing (or allowed) to run. Yes, he started being a good runner..... but that was development.

Just step back a bit..... that's all I'm saying..... 15 games isn't a lot of games to evaluate a QB.

For that, you guys wanna filet me. Well, fine. If reality pisses you off, fine.

At least Leaf had a good year.,PAC 10 QB overated . Leaf Leinart Locker

Elway? Rodgers? Moon? Bledsoe? Luck?

I'd argue that the PAC-8/10/12 probably has historically produced the best crop of NFL QBs in football history.

Outside of guys like Brees, Montana, Brady and Marino, most of them come from the PAC-8/10/12 and Brady was a California kid who left the region for school.

For Ohio State QBs, Haskins absolutely is generational.

He has broken every record in the B1G that matters and most of those were held by either JT Barrett OR Drew Brees, and Drew Brees will go down as one of the best QBs ever.

The time is now for the guy. I think he's a different kid (much like EZE was) where school is more than just a ticket to the NFL, but in the end, it's his time and he should strike while the iron is hot.

I hear those ESPN boards are easy to use....

6 TDs against the #2 defense isn't potential... that's reality.
And he's done it all season long. One season or two... kid is legit and he's proven it on the field every single week.
For only 15 weeks.

Look, I'm not saying he's trash, but you'd think I am from the attitude here. I'm saying he's young, he's not that proven..... it's a riskier bet than I'd like to hang a franchise on. Is that some kinda sin? I'd it untrue?

If you're going to hang Manning or Brees expectations on someone, I want a bit more than 15 games. What's unreasonable about that?

1. Again, what is the exact number of games required before we can discuss a generational talent?
2. You've repeatedly equated him to Herbert ... which is laughable.
3. He's same age as Luck when he declared.
4. He's the safest bet for a 1st round QB since Luck. People be hanging their franchise on the likes of Jameis Winston and Goff.. GMs and coaches will be tripping over themselves come April.
5. Find me a single person that said he's Manning or Brees 2.0.
6. Nobody is hanging expectations; just talking reality. He is the best QB prospect since Luck. He has broke all of Brees records. That's not hanging expectations on him...

This is correct and I agree completely.

For the B1G, he was an amazing QB. And at the next level he may also be amazing, but he's just too young to read...... 15 games.

This comparison to Manning or Luck is ridiculous at this point. There's just not enough snaps to know.

Should he go? I think he should. Do I think he'd be better if he waited a year or two, yes......IF..... he didn't get hurt or a thousand other potential problems.

I wish him well and will follow him at the next level.

You can speculate that Tate's generational for all I care....... you're going to anyway, probably, next year.
