A key stat for Tua Tuggamothafuk is that he had a 94.2 QBR and threw for 3,353 yards1!!!1!1! He also threw 37 TD passes. Then there’s little ol’ Dwayne who only threw for 4,580 and 47 TDs. The Heisman voters got it wrong but it was a chance to step up and admit that it was absurd. Dwayne’s stats came against pee wee defenses, apparently.

Aaaaaaand, if not for that game against UGA, Tua might have won the Heisman! Because he’s fucking awwwwwwsome!

I personally would have voted Dwayne 2nd after the SECCG, but saying that the Heisman voting was "absurd" because of their volume stats is dumb as shit.

Not really. Doesn't have anything to do with what I said anyway.

Dwayne threw for 1,200 more yards and 10 more TDs...on 200 more attempts. Tua was the best player on the most dominant team and, for the majority of the season, highly efficient. They were finalists for different reasons.

I realize that since August the Buckeye Fan Media Victimization Complex has been at apex salt, but it's really not difficult to see why people rate Tua the way that they do. Nothing "absurd" about it.

His post was about ESPN's rankings with those blurbs. You quoted it. So it's 100% about that.

I agree with your original point, but that's not CFPB's problem... it just further underscores how blind ESPN is.
And no, Tua wasn't that great. The two times he faced really good DLines proved it - Georgia and MissSt. It will be interesting to see if he plays against Clemson.

You’re arguing with a guy who thinks Haskins is as good a prospect as Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. That’s called fighting a losing battle.

I’ve watched Herbert at Lock. Neither are as good at Haskins. And that’s not a biased statement.

Got a text from a colleague, who is a ND fan and a big NY Giants fan. It was a screenshot of a mock draft that had the Giants taking Herbert. He said, “I don’t even think the Browns old management would be dumb enough to take Herbert over Haskins! Haskins will easily be the best QB in this draft.”

At this time, yes. BOTH he and Haskins are still green and will need development. Herbert has a touch more seasoning, Haskins has a touch more raw talent.

In the end, though, both are good..... hardly great or "generational" like Bosa..... but really good QBs. You guys make it sound like Haskins is the Second Coming...... he's not. He's one of 2 good prospects this year..... with Lock being a sleeper in my eyes.

You say he's not a generational talent but he did just smash Drew Brees' major records which stood for 2 decades; you know, the guy who will hold all of the major NFL passing records. Urban also said he was the best passer he ever recruited. Plus Gus Johnson has thrown out the Brady and Manning comparisons, and I don't consider him a Buckeye homer.

Dwayne doesn't feel like a lock like Luck or Manning were coming out of college. But just because he doesn't have the hype due to an obvious bias from espn doesn't mean he can't be a generational QB.

I'd like to remind you that he did all this in his FIRST year starting.

- Leads receivers
- Prototype NFL size
- Leadership qualities
- Calm demeanor
- Proven track record playing from behind
- Consistent Rating against elite opponents
- Elevated a WR corps that was going to have nobody drafted to multiple 1000yd guys
- Smashed the record books in 1 year

What isn't generational about Haskins?
The only thing he's lacking from last 2 is taking over the audible game. And i wouldnt bet against him figuring that out.
He is hands down the best NFL QB prospect since Luck, and it's not close.

Brees..... great B1G QB, second round pick because of his height, as I recall. Someone named Vick was the 1st pick that year.

It's not always "lack of hype" if a player is simply exceptionally gifted, young, and who really knows how he'll develop...... those are real concerns, just as Brees height hurt his draft chances. Shrug.... actual concerns.

Actual concerns: Haskins is gifted, yes, but undeveloped in his reading skills and pocket poise. He's young...... one great year in college..... does not generational make.

I'm not anti-Haskins. I'm just realistic. A great young QB....... but still a roll of the dice in many ways.

Herbert is much the same. More pocket poise, less natural gifts, a bit stiff..... robotic, to me. Just young, undeveloped, not ready for the NFL.

BTW, Murray is too short to even be in a conversation and Tua needs all kinds of work on his decision making, reads, etc too.
