Yea I don't see the harm in bringing in a 1 year stop gap like Ward or Will Howard. That's not likely gonna run Lincoln or Noland off.

This day and age you definitely can't just sit around and "wait and see".

There's not a Fields level guy at all this year in the portal. But there are a couple of guys we could win with.

I would like to see the job go to a traditional recruit if they are worthy, but I do agree if Day waits, the good transfer qbs will already be taken and spending their NIL money.

You make a 12 team playoff with a McCord type, but you aren't winning it.

If you can get that more proven guy who gives you a better chance to actually win it all, you do it.

He enrolled in the summer at OSU as he played basketball and baseball his senior year of high school.

I'm not a fan of Skip Bayless/K. Johnson, but I did watch their show on the QB's that have entered the portal.

They ranked McCord the 8th best QB in the Portal

It's good Day realizes he needs a better QB to win the games that count, it would have been better if he realized that

before McCord "won" the starting job. What's done is done I guess.

If you take the wait and see approach then there won’t be anyone in the portal left. I have a lot of hope for Lincoln, but if you find in spring that he’s not there yet then the portal will already be empty. Hell, it will most likely be empty before the bowl game, these guys want to get enrolled for January.

Pryor,Miller, Barrett,Haskins,Fields,Stroud..

McCord looked like a backup QB filling in compared to the above. Got used to a lot better over the last many years.
Not sure the portal is showing us another QB the level of Fields. Brown & Lincoln are here with Noland coming. Is part of the current uncertainty involved Day maybe talking or waiting to hear something from the NFL. or some other college? Just me speculating. Bowl game first, I guess.

I don't know that there is a lot of uncertainty. It was obvious that McCord frustrated Day to no end. I assume Brown can throw similar to McCord, but also run for a 3rd and short with no problems. If that's true all Day had to say to McCord is, we're moving onto Brown going forward.

It's easy to see its the best move for BOTH parties. McCord was given 3 years of good tutelage, now he gets to move to a place where he will be "The Guy". win win

I thought Kleinholtz showed better passing skills than Brown in both of their limited appearances. Looking forward to seeing them both in the bowl game.
