Stroud on task facing Georgia in Peach Bowl: 'We have to play Buckeye football'
“It’s definitely a good feeling knowing we don’t have to deal with the weather, coming from Ohio and the Big Ten and the Midwest where the majority of the time the weather is a factor,” Stroud said. “Whatever it takes to win is what we’re going to do. Whether that’s throwing the ball or that’s running the ball … whatever the case may be, we just want to win the game.
“We want to focus on that and execution in those type of scenarios. That is a good thing to be playing in a really nice stadium. I think the atmosphere will be cool. I am surely excited to be playing inside of that stadium.”

“I had a great recruitment with Georgia,” he said. “I went on an official visit and then I did have an in-home visit with (Coach Smart) and Coach McGee. They were very respectful. I enjoyed my time there. I met some of the players and I think some of them still play there now. I have respect for them.
“I got to see Stetson (Bennett) up at the Heisman ceremony. I got to talk to Coach Smart. He is a good dude. He’s a great coach. There was nothing but respect for both sides. It has come around 360 to be able to play them now.
“It was close, but I am glad where I went and I will ride with them until I die. They were second in my recruitment. I feel like I made the right decision in deciding to go where I decided to go.”
Stroud was asked what Georgia tried to sell him on as the Bulldogs recruited him out of high school for the 2020 class.
“It was so long ago, like three or four years ago,” Stroud said. “They were more so on the side of passing it a bit more. I think I am dynamic when it comes to throwing it downfield and working in the pocket. They knew they were getting (tight end) Darnell (Washington), who was in my class. They’ve always had a great defense with Kelee (Ringo) and the dudes they had back then.
“They were excited to have an offensive attack as well as a really good defense. Coach Cooley, who was the quarterbacks coach at the time, loved how my footwork was and how I could extend plays and make plays on the run and do things like that. That was kind of their pitch.”
