QB CJ Stroud (All B1G, 2022 B1G QB of the Year, All-American, NFL OROY, Houston Texans)

A lot of people are saying that CJ had an awful game and he has no chance at a Heisman now but I disagree. He didnt light them up for 500 yards but Notre Dame isnt a garbage team either. Should have ran some more so that CJ had play action to use early but some of the throws that CJ made were absolutely ridiculous. The touchdown to EE was incredible as well as multiple roll outs CJ had. He's going to need a week or two to get used to the timing with the other guys but he still had 71%, 2TDs and no INTs. The guys in front of him are going to have more rushing yards without a doubt but get back to me after this week and next when CJ has 1000 yards passing for the season after 3 games and his completion percentage is phenomenal and Ohio State is 3-0 getting ready to play Wisconsin.

He did hurt his chances, but he is not out of it. The first half he lost composure and his play regressed to a level that we did not see since the beginning of last year. He came out after the half much more in control of his emotions and he continued to build confidence with those throws. I actually believe that he need to have exactly this kind of game to take away the unrealistic expectations and thus have a real chance at winning it all, for himself and his team

We got beat by scUM and Oregon last year and he was a finalist. I'll take winning a tough game against a good team. I'm sure some of the other top players will have so-so games when they meet stiffer competition and CJ will start blowing the doors off against lesser competition. it isn't like he made mistakes or didn't have any highlight plays. Pretty good for missing 2 of his top 3-4 WR's against a top 5 team.

You take the top 2 receivers off any team especially in week one..unless your an experienced Elite QB anyone would struggle. CJ still learning .,he will continue to grow.

Tied Art Schlichter on the all time (career) passing TDs list at Ohio State with 50. Should eventually pass Justin Fields for #2 this season. He'd probably have to come back next year to pass J. T. Barrett. Note: Barrett's 104 is over 4 years.

1. J. T. Barrett 104
2. Justin Fields 63
3. Bobby Hoying 57
Terrelle Pryor 57
5. Joe Germaine 56
6. Troy Smith 54
Dwayne Haskins 54
8. Braxton Miller 52
9. Art Schlichter 50
C. J. Stroud 50

I'm sure we'll all be happy with #2 on the list, a B1G championship and National Championship 8D

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Three QBs go in first three picks in latest edition from CBS Sports

1. HOUSTON TEXANS: QB C.J. STROUD, OHIO STATE

11293302.jpg

Stroud went 24-of-34 passing for 223 yards and two touchdowns against Notre Dame and followed that up with a superb performance against Arkansas State. Stroud has the prototypical NFL quarterback frame at 6-foot-3, 230 pounds. Stroud threw for 4,435 yards and 44 touchdowns last fall during his first season as the Buckeyes' starter and is one of the best deep-ball throwers in recent years.

CBS Sports: "The Texans cannot turn away the opportunity to take a quarterback when picking this high, and they have another selection in the first round to continue improving the roster."

2. ATLANTA FALCONS: QB BRYCE YOUNG, ALABAMA

3. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: QB ANTHONY RICHARDSON, FLORIDA

Not sure I agree with that article but CJ going at 1 would be great.

The way Geno played tonight if he's able to keep that up Seahawks go another direction. The Bama defensive lineman would be my guess

If Cardale Jones hadn't usurped Barrett's spot in 2015, Barrett would probably have over 200 touchdowns. Just kidding, but I'm sure Barrett would have had more if he started all of 2015.
Stroud will pass Barrett this year. 60 touchdowns this year, including 7 against *ichigan in The Game. Then, because the Big Ten is a bunch of goobers, they'll put *ichigan in the conference championship game against Ohio State, and he'll throw 8 more touchdowns against them the second time. And *ichigan will still make the playoffs, and Stroud will beat them with 9 more touchdowns in regulation. Note that the defense will give up multiple (MANY) touchdowns on purpose so that the game goes into overtime, and Stroud then throws 2 more touchdowns in overtime.

Did I say 60 touchdowns this year? I meant 80.

Yeah, his Heisman chances are fine right now. He missed a guaranteed 300 yards and 4 TDS against Akron after having a bad game against Tulsa and was still a finalist last season. If JSN and Fleming can get healthy, I'd anticipate the offense being more consistent and CJ having some crazy good games.

That being said, I think Caleb Williams wins the Heisman this year. The story of USC's resurgence, the love of Lincoln Riley QBs, and Williams having flashy running plays will be hard to beat.
