QB CJ Stroud (All B1G, 2022 B1G QB of the Year, All-American, NFL OROY, Houston Texans)

If I were CJ I'd actually be looking to connect with the young WR's in the bowl game. Wilson and Olave have nothing to prove but they'll need replacements next year. Get the backups time with the starting O and playcalling and see how they mesh when it counts.

Don’t forget that this is his first game playing in this snowy condition in his life. Yes, he missed a few throws early...his first rivalry game in enemy territory in blistering cold condition. He settled down and did well. Brice Young didn’t do that well in a tropical 70 degree evening with no wind...and had a pick.

You cant use logic like that, because SEC! You are correct though the people voting won't see it

Yeah, I can envision Olave and Wilson(and Ruckert) sitting out the Bowl game. Time to learn to work with Fleming, MHjr, Egbuka, Stover and Royer

If Stroud was sick without a voice all week, as said in the presser, and didn't fully have his voice back in the loud atmosphere, then that explains some of the false starts, confusion on handoffs and routes, and delays getting the snaps off while Stroud was getting his linemen in position with his hands. Hell of an effort if he was playing without much of a voice.

He played well. He finished strong in a tough spot. He saved a couple terrible snaps and didn't turn the ball over. Made some nice passes. Would still like to see him become more of a dual threat.
I agree to a point. I don't want him as JT Barrett, but he did find the end zone when left the pocket yesterday, although it was called back. His passing numbers go significantly down when he is under pressure. He needs to work on scrambling outside the pocket to make a throw or run for a few yards when the pocket is collapsing to get a better option for the next down.

yeah, I'm not putting this one on Stroud, but the environment did seem to be a little much for him early on. He missed a lot of open guys and there were a few balls in there that our guys typucally come up with that they just didn't yesterday. ttun got off to a good start but I still think Day could have done a better job hrlping his QB settle in more in the 1st quarter.

I know our pass offense is the strength of this team but I'll never side with the people who thought we were going to win this game having Stroud throw the ball 50 times and rush for 60 yards. You just can't abandon the run game like we did that early in THE GAME and think that it wasn't going to come back to bite us in the end with their DE's wrecking havoc and taking over the game.

They had success early on running outside to the right and just stopped going that way. And not once did they get the WR's involved in the run game on the perimeter. Very disappointing.

CJ showed a lot of growth this year, and looking fwd to next year, but he also has had arguably the best set of WR's in the history of the B1G to throw to and just like the Oregon game........ threw for 400 (500 vs Oregon) and the offense scored 27 points (28 vs. Oregon).

Sorry, Day's excuse why they abandoned the run game just doesn't sit with me.

Oh he just won the Heisman now. Bama winning in 4OTs cemented Youngs Heisman moment to the voters.

Even though he looked like hot garbage throughout the game and didn't come close to Strouds state
Tank Bigsby going out of bounds and giving them an extra 40 seconds for that 97-yard drive could have swung the Heisman. If he stayed in bounds, Young likely would have finished with 0 TDs in a loss. But if Georgia stuffs the Bama offense and gets a couple of picks, most voters will have a tough time finding somebody besides Stroud to put at the top of their ballot.

Except that a portion of the old school voters turn in their ballots now.

Tough to get settled in when special teams gives you the ball at the 4 yard line for your first series every in The Game. That's not Day's fault at all (well maybe other than coaching that you MUST catch the ball).
