QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

I don't think either would be crazy, but I would go with the guy that beat three top-ranked defenses and the top-2 seeds in the playoff to close out his NC run. And played well while showing sound decision making and an arm that Barrett and Brax can only dream of. Don't get me wrong, I know a case can be made for all three, but I ride the guy that just won me a consensus NC.
I personally would go with the 19 year old redshirt freshman who came in and wrecked shop and who very well could have accomplished the exact same thing. That run was magical, but JT was a straight G, Heisman contender as a redshirt freshman. And I'm not sure how much this matters, but regarding Cardale's arm, the deep threat won't be the same even with Cardale due to Devin Smith being gone. As crazy as it sounds, Devin Smith was a once ever 10 years deep threat. Look at his stats, that's an accurate statement. However, Cardale's ability to power it in on 20 yard routes is no joke, and that will be missed.

Either way I'm proud of Cardale but if we lose him and Braxton transfers... lol We just went from a big strength to a big question mark with JT coming back off a broken lower leg and NO one behind him with experience.

The good news is if Cardale really does go pro that means Collier will be the #1 QB all spring/summer and he will get a measurable amount of reps with the first team... Because as we've seen in 3 years with Urban you need more than 1 QB to get through the year.

It wasn't just the deep threat. Go watch a few of his throws in the NCG. He spun that ball through some impossibly tight windows (I'm thinking of the 3rd down conversion in the 4th quarter to Marshall, in particular) that Barrett, and hell...few QBs...can. He just adds a different dimension. But, again, I think we're fine with any of them...I'm just a Cardale guy.

Jerome Bettis on His & Hers brought up great points about how much better the offense was with Jones, as a strong pocket passer, in Meyer's system. He thinks Jones is the best fit for Meyer's offense, and I agree.
That's fair enough, and don't get me wrong I think we could win a national championship next year with any of the three (F'ing amazing). I personally just feel JT is the better fit, and depending on Braxton's recovery from injury and improvement mentally (reading defenses), he could be better as well.

Even if he is leaning heavily on coming back, I expect him to declare today as that gives him an extra 72 hours to think about it, get more input, etc.

However... I'm of the same mindset as most that he's gone. Greatest 3-game run by a quarterback in Ohio State history!

Few QBs can do that, and of those, not all of them would even try it. That's one of the things that makes Cardale so good--he isn't fazed by the big stage, and he has the confidence to make plays. I really think the sky's the limit for this kid, and I would love to see him start for OSU next year.

Cardale - I fully expect you to go get paid. A family to provide for and raw potential to be developed.

You've grown into a fine young man and I do hope there is a tree planted in the grove just for you.

Edit. I would love to have you back home, in Cleveland. Learning behind Hoyer for a year of two. Then beating the piss out of Johnny Foosball to put the Brownies back on the map. Bring Devin Smith along as well.

Yep. Like Heather Cox (hehe, "cocks") said postgame...he has ice water running through his veins. He has all the physical tools that made JaMarcus Russell go #1 overall...just looks like he has a better head on his shoulders.
