QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

Next two weekends important for Michigan | freep.com

This weekend's official visitors will have a chance to attend Michigan's home basketball game against Harvard Saturday night. The prospects planning to take their official visits to Michigan the weekend of Dec. 10, however, will be part of the largest crowd ever to watch a hockey game when Michigan takes on Michigan State in the Big Chill at the Big House on Dec. 11.

The Big Chill is a unique event and should make for an excellent recruiting atmosphere. Recruits enjoy visiting Michigan during fall game days to see 110,000 fans in the Big House, and having 110,000 in attendance for a hockey game should make a strong impression.

Recruits who have already scheduled their official visits to coincide with the Big Chill include Chicago Simeon offensive lineman Chris Bryant; Cleveland Glenville teammates Cardale Jones and Shane Wynn; Holland West Ottawa linebacker Desmond Morgan; Winter Springs, Fla.; linebacker Ryan Petro, and West Branch Ogemaw Heights defensive end Anthony Zettel.

Cardale Jones and Shane Wynn Michigan Visits Off | Bucknuts.com

Posted by Bill Kurelic on Dec 07, 2010 at 12:53 pm

Quarterback Cardale Jones (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville) and wide receiver Shane Wynn, had been planning to make official visits to Michigan this weekend.

However, neither will be in Ann Arbor, saying their trips have been postponed

"I won't be visiting Michigan because I'm taking the ACT on Saturday," Jones said. "I'm still planning to visit Michigan, but I don't know when."

Wynn said he will be playing basketball for Glenville on Friday night and he too is not sure when he will visit Michigan,

Jones said he is mainly focusing on five schools, Michigan, Ohio State, LSU, West Virginia and Penn State, though the Buckeyes have not offered a scholarship.

Both Jones and Wynn don?t have any official visits set at this time.

Wynn mentions Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, USC, Penn State, North Carolina, Toledo and Akron as schools he is interested in visiting, though as in the case of Jones, the Buckeyes have not offered Wynn a scholarship.

If Cardale doesn't make it into the Ohio State class, I think he'd make a very nice Daryl Clark-esque QB for Penn State. That being said, I am selfish and want all sorts of QB talent to come to Columbus. If he gets the grades, lets go get him!

PSU wouldn't surprise me one bit as a destination for Cardale...as many as 5 Glenville players could end up at either Michigan or PSU...

I wonder how Frank Clark feels about getting left out of all the package deal discussion that Sturdivant, Wynn, Jones and Walker keep talking about?

Clark didn't even have a Big Ten offer until a few days ago with Michigan. The other four have at least three Big Ten offers, most of them have four or more. Plus mighty OSU has seemed heavily interested in all four. I'd think Clark would understand that the statement carries a little less water if he is also included. Who knows though, it would be interesting to hear his real unfiltered thoughts on it.

The question still stands...and you just make my point...it's all a part of the game...

Clark's had offers from UNC and Cal since the summer...

I watched the DWYER game on ESPIN...I thought Clark played outstanding. I think in the end he'll make some coach happy. OSU is in on sooooooo many top prospects right now its not even funny. This "game" being played might cost them playing football at OSU.

Jones lead West to win in O-D Bowl

December 31, 2010

Rivals.com Football Recruiting

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Cardale Jones wasn't the most heralded quarterback on the West roster. A week ago, Vad Lee wasn't even on the East roster.

At Friday's Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, they were stars.
Cardale Jones completed 7-of-11 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns in the game.

In the West's 35-21 win, the uncommitted Jones showed why he will be a prime target for several major programs between now and National Signing Day, and Lee displayed unique talents that suggest he might be a perfect fit for the school he is committed to, Georgia Tech.
First, let's recap Jones' night.

Jones, a right-hander who is 6 feet 5, 217 pounds and is rated as the country's 12th-best pro-style quarterback in the class of 2011, completed 7-of-11 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns. For good measure, he rushed for a score.

Jones, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, who said earlier this week he had four programs on top - Ohio State, Michigan, LSU and Penn State - looked smooth the entire night. His passes were both crisp and accurate. And when the pocket collapsed, he had the athleticism and moxie to not only scoot away from defenders but locate receivers and find them.

"It was a good experience," Jones said. "We started out great, then we struggled. They gave us a nice halftime speech and then we just picked it up from there."

West wins offensive battle in Offense-Defense All-American Bowl

By Ryan Elswick

MYRTLE BEACH -- Cordale Jones passed for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns and ran for another score Friday as the West team topped the East 35-21 in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

Jones, a 6-5, 225-pounder from Glenville (Ohio) who is still undecided on where he will play in college, was 7-for-10 passing with scoring strikes to South Carolina-bound receiver Shamier Jeffery (Calhoun County) and Stanford commitment Ty Montgomery (St. Mark's, Texas).

As solid as Jones was, offensive MVP honors went to East quarterback Vad Lee, who was a late addition to the roster after O-D officials learned heralded quarterback Christian LeMay (Butler High, N.C.) would be ineligible to play because he had already participated in a practice at Georgia.

Maybe grades as Toledo has open enrollment for Ohio students. Terrell Owens former Glenville QB is there. This is a good fit.

Which, if this final two is true, then is essentially saying OSU if I get in, Toledo if I dont. No?
