Notre Dame's field looked just as bad or worse than Purdue's. They also re-sodded last season, twice actually. During the Spring Game today they announced they're finally going to Field Turf though. There was a great gnashing of false teeth among the blue haired alumni today. A lot of traditionalists have been against the move to an artificial surface, but it just makes sense if you play in the Midwest. Teams in the south and the Pacific coast play on grass, not teams in Indiana. They practice on Field Turf, they should play on Field Turf.

My yard looks better than that and I haven't touched it since last October. I have no idea what they do with the BIG money they receive but I'd be checking some folks bank account records.

Your yard doesn't have 8-10 300 lbs. hogs in cleats pushing on each other in the rain. You've got a point though. Most of us don't have a full grounds crew tending to our yards each day, even if this year's winter has been a bitch.

Kill a student on field turf? No problemo.

Play a game on field turf? Oh, the tragedy of it all.
