According to sources in the south, teams like Ole Miss will add/remove layers based on the opponent they're facing. USC can expect 5 inch tall Field Turf on their next return.

Nice stiff arm:

Appelby ran the read option and kept it. He ended up having two defenders on him and pulled up at the line of scrimmage to flip the ball to the H-Back that was leading him. He did that while stiff-arming one of the Marshall defenders!

Over those early years, Purdue's football team was called "grangers," "pumpkin-shuckers," "railsplitters," "cornfield sailors," "blacksmiths," and "foundry hands," but ultimately, it was "Boilermakers" that finally stuck.

Purdue opens as a 5.5 point underdog, at home to VT after everyone in CFB saw how bad VT looked without their starting QB.
