Prioritize Your Hate List

Just have to be smart enough to stay away from that type of garbage. My days of partying down on Chittenden are over so I am not really worried about getting into drunken scuffles with "fans" anymore.

I'll give you that.

If you are going to annoy people for fun you are smart to do it on the internet or around a bunch of soccer mom's where the chances of catching a beating are greatly diminished.

it's statements like this that CBS and the SEC completely ignore when trying to cram an LSU/Arky rivalry down our throats.

seriously, where does LSU rank on Arky's hate list?

below Texas Obviously, even though y'all don't play them every year anymore.

we're probably higher on y'all list, simply because of the need to compile a new list when y'all joined the conference.

but for almost all LSU fans, R-Kansas is 4th at best on our list.

Florida, Bama, and Auburn are all above them.
for most fans, Ole [censored] is still more hated than Arkansas.
and there is also a group of old timers who would also list Toolame above Arkansas.
Just too many years of bad blood and hatred to push aside for the new guy on the block.

Maybe if we had a few more games that actually meant something, it would help.

2002 is the only season I can remember where the winner of our game was in the SEC CG.

other than that, the West is usually already decided by the time our game rolls around.

Obviously, Texas is #1 on the list as you note, though I suspect that's fading for the fans who don't have personal memories of the series. I'm glad to be rid of them, but there are those that have a Stockholm Syndrome-like relationship with them and would happily ditch the SEC for the opportunity to be abused by them again. Those folks are dying out though.

You can't really call it a rivalry, but we want to beat Mississippi more than anyone else on the schedule every year. We have a long history with them - playing a lot of games before we joined the SEC - and pretty much own them. Throw in the Houston Nutt deal to add to the hate/schadenfreude and that puts them at the top of the hate list.

And we hate Tennessee. Before the SEC changed the league format, they were on our schedule every year - pretty much owning us - and they wear Orange (see: Texas). A lot of the Texas Hate got transferred to them when we left the Texas Conference. They finally roll back onto our schedule this year. I suspect that it won't be as intense as it was before the format change for a few reasons: Donut Boy is gone, Dooley seems likable enough, they suck, we're good - so we'll see how it goes I guess.

We hate Alabama (everyone hates The Gumps) and have a decent record vs them, but no real history pre-SEC. We hate Alabama for the same reason everyone else does, because of the fans who remind us a great deal of Texas fans.

So I guess you guys are below that. It doesn't seem like we've ever generated a good old fashioned hate for for y'all, which is kind of curious really. It is such an inhospitable stadium for opposing fans that I'm surprised it isn't higher on the list.

Plenty of that garbage in Ann Arbor too. Only difference is that in Ann Arbor, the garbage also is a bunch of pansies, so the threat posed by such garbage is nil.

oh I am a huge proponent of every fanbase having it's share of douchebags. Michigan is no exception. But I have dealt with osu pansies as well, so that too, is a two way street my friend.

I mean...I'm sure the weasels tried to not have their nuts ripped off...even if it didn't look like it...but there was nothing they could do. It was carnage. Pure carnage.

Luckily for most of them, Braylon was there to hold their nuts in his mouth until they could be reattached.

Speaking of Mississippi...
We need a Mississippi fan to weigh in on this. They have to be hoping for a win over either Alabama or Arkansas to give them a claim as the 49th best state in the union, because without that win they've got nothin'. A win over Alabama makes a better argument but a win over Arkansas is a more realistic goal. I wonder which one they want more.
