Prioritize Your Hate List

cincibuck

You kids stay off my lawn!
What makes for a perfect Saturday? It begins with a Buckeye win, but then who do you want to see lose? For me it goes like this:

1. Notre Dame
2. USC
3. Alabama
4. Notre Dame
5. A Steve Spurrier coached team
6. Auburn
7. Florida State
8. Miami
9. Notre Dame
10. A BYU/Boise/TCU Tri-fecta

If it's a conference game Michigan moves up to #9, If it's the Michigan game they move to #1.

Honestly, my hate list depends on the season/week. If the SEC or Big 12 is getting a lot of love on depth or this week is the "de-facto national championship" then I usually want that conferences #1 team to lose.

1. Ohio State Win
2. San Diego State Win
3. Big Ten OOC wins
4. MWC OOC wins
5. Notre Dame loses
6. BYU loses
7. ESPN's darling #1 or Heisman candidate loses (rarely does this contradict with #1-4)
8. SEC depth comes into question through USC-East, Kentucky et al. losing
9. scUM loses embarrassing game or they win ineptly
10. Whoever the genius coach is of the season gets knocked down a peg (Chip Kelly, Saban, Jimbo Fisher, yadayadayada)

Good topic. Realizing that this is a matter of personal preference, I do not understand how scUM wouldn't at least make the top 10 of any OSU fan's list.

Mine, too.
I'll make a stab at my list, as it might look today:

0. (It's not really part of the "hate" list, but it's important. All else is moot if this doesn't happen.) Ohio State doesn't lose. (If we say "Ohio State wins", that doesn't cover the bye weeks.)
1. ESPN. Yeah, I'm considering them a team. I don't know why.
2. Alabama, Florida, LSU. I don't know if "hate" is the right word, though. I want to see all these teams lose because they don't do it enough. Probably more respect for these teams than hate.
3. Pete Carroll. I know he isn't in college football anymore, but I like watching his teams lose. I used to like the Seahawks, for some reason.
4. Wisconsin. You get a couple of winning seasons and you think you're a national power? Win a BCS bowl game within the last 10 years. Or more than one Big Ten championship.
5. Penn State. Until 2005, I liked Penn State. But then, the so-called "greatest Penn State game of all time" was when they beat Ohio State, and threw urine-bombs at the band. I want you to lose, now. It's a shame, because I like JoePa.
6. Michigan in-conference, or if they're playing Toledo or Appy State. Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
7. Notre Dame. I don't want to hear about your "lucrative TV deal" with NBC. If the numbers I've heard are correct, their TV deal makes less money from NBC than the BTN gives to University of Indiana. HA!!
8. More SEC teams.
9. All the rest of the SEC teams.
10. Boise, TCU, and all the other teams I'm not going to mention. Let them in the national championship, already, so they can lose and go home, and we don't need to hear about them anymore.
11. Texas. I used to like them. But then I hear these rumors of "owning" the Big 12. Meh. Someone ought to knock them down a few pegs.
12. Cincinnati. Congratulations - you won some games. But you're acting like little brother with your "bUCkeye state" shirts, and you aren't "there" until you can act like it. I think most Buckeye fans would have root for UC in the Sugar Bowl against Florida if it weren't for your fans.
13. Nebraska. Nothing against the team, fans, tradition, or anything else. I just don't want to see them win the conference championship in their first year.

1. Michigan
2. USC
3. Tennessee

8. Oregon
9. David Hasselhoff
10. Auburn (but only for another year or so while they still have a football program)

1. Notre Dame, under any circumstances
2. Penn State, unless they are playing Notre Dame
3. Michigan, unless they are playing Notre Dame/Penn State
4. Meteor strike for scenarios 2 and 3
5. All of the above.

1. Notre Dame
2. Any team ranked ahead of OSU.
3. scUM (for any in conference game)
4. State Penn (for any in conference game)
5. Wisky (for any in conference game)
6. Whichever team is currently the media darling being promoted by ESPN.

The only problem I have ever had is when a team ranked ahead of OSU is playing Notre Dame. While a ND win could benefit OSU in the polls, I still pull for a Notre Dame loss.
