Wiping out every bit of accomplishment that their fans are able to hang their hats on is a worthwhile, even a venerable goal.
Thankfully the RichRod era prevented them from matching Nebraska's bowl streak of 35 straight seasons, or TSUN fans would never stop gloating about such a streak.
tOSU winning 14 or 15 more straight games against TSUN would wipe out the margin they gained in the head-to-head series before World War I. tOSU fans would revel in no longer having to hear about the all-time head-to-head record.
A couple of decades of mediocrity for TSUN would also allow somebody like Texas (or Nebraska ) to overtake them on the all-time wins list. That's their main claim to fame (they've NEVER won a Coaches National Title), and over the last 100 years Ohio State has the best winning percentage of any D-I team, and Texas and Oklahoma each have 40 more wins than TSUN.
Wiping out the advantage TSUN racked up in the days before touchdowns counted as 6 points (TSUN had 186 wins before 1912, while tOSU had 126 and Nebraska 130), is something I hope to live to see. The fact that it would take an extended period of time with TSUN as a mediocre football team for that to happen is fine by me.
