Preseason and Regular Season Polls (2015)

The SEC is going to beat the hell out of each other. I just hope they all give each other at least 2 losses.

Me too. The over hyped teams are beginning to show their true colors. With as one dimensional as both LSU and Bama is, they will each take an L soon. I don't see Florida going unscathed. Their best win is over Ole Miss (who much like last year got exposed after a few good wins).

It's all freaking predicated on the preseason notion that Bama was going to be great. Ole miss rocketed up the polls after exposing weak Bama QB play, therefore they slingshot up the polls. Then Ole miss got their asses kicked by a tough/untested Florida team. So Florida now rocketed up the polls...

It's all a vicious welfare system.

I think the results of this weekend would mark the difference, but agreed on pre-week... both were questionable 4-0 teams with offensive wizards as HCs.
I was pretty confident McElwain would get their offense productive fast (I was in FC for part of his time) ... he knows what he's doing on that side of the ball. And he's fortunate to have inherited a decent defense from their previous defensive minded HC. His defenses at CSU were terrible though -- he'll be dependent on how good his staff is on that side, esp the DC. But wouldn't surprise me if Florida made a run in his first 3 years, then became Baylor-esque b/c of defense.
Just a guess, maybe he figures out that side... or maybe he makes good hires to do it for him... but he hasn't demonstrated competence w/Defense as a HC yet.

Wilson has yet to field a good D. And it's unlikely he ever will at this point. He puts together some electric offenses though.

I don't own any tin foil hats but it's odd that Toledo is in the top 25 (a team that knocked out supposed SEC contender, Arkansas) yet teams like Indiana can't get in...
I don't think it's any kind of conspiracy....it's just that voters buy into the SEC that much. Indiana hangs with #1, B1G sucks. Toledo beats Arkansas, SEC and MAC are great.

There are 5 B1G teams in the top 25 now. When is the last time that happened? It's not like the B1G isn't getting respect.

I have serious doubts about Florida and TCU making it to the end. Florida deserves top-25 treatment, but still a question mark about how good they really are. TCU has been exposed a few times, just cuz they beat up on a trillion dollar FCS cupcake this weekend.
I have concerns about us as well... but SEC is a Circle of Destiny so far, and BXII looks like Baylor might actually be better? Their offense seems more consistent and their defense has looked ever so slightly better.

I'm not sure it works like that either. Not sure school gets to pick, or just assigned to the "closest" one to them?

Yeah, I was more responding to SERE's post about why Toledo and not IU and agreeing with you its not a conspiracy.

I was joking about the tin foil hats thing. I just said it's odd that a team like Indiana gets doubted as a Top 25 teams (despite having a very similar resume to Florida), yet a team like Toledo can make the Top 25

Don't sell TCU short. They beat up on THE trillion dollar NCAA cupcake this weekend.

I honestly think that Indiana is on par with Florida. Their resumes up until this weekend were remarkably similar. I think the Gators got WAY too much milage of thrashing Ole Miss. The Rebs pull this shit every year. Even though their run game actually looks great, I'm still in see it to believe mode with Baylor. I need to see their defense win a game. Still not buying TCU at all. They might get beat next weekend when they go to K-State. SEC? Meh. Only teams I'm buying from that conference is Alabama and Texas A&M. Both look like complete teams at the moment. LSU is going to pee down their pants once someone shuts down Fournette. Ole Miss already exposed themselves as frauds. SEC East is a dumpster fire as always. Georgia still has Mark Richt as their coach. South Carolina is awful. Mizzou isn't much better. Florida beating a fraudulent Ole Miss team that pulls this shit every year isn't impressive. Meh.
