Premier League (Official Thread)

Noooooooooooooo! Not Emery!

My greatest concern is not that he struggled in his first year at PSG despite having the biggest payroll club by far, it's that I think he is a 'Yes Man' who is willing to bow down to the Kroenke/Gazidis transfer strategy where Allegri, Arteta, and Enrique were not.
This would only really be a concern if Mislintat and Sanllehi weren't already at the club. No manager was going to have that much of a sway on transfer strategy regardless. Even though the timing on the Auba buy was strange, given their track records I'm totally okay with them running the show for the time being.

Honestly I think Emery lost some shine at PSG trying to manage huge egos and rich ass players in a cupcake league, but if he were coming directly from Sevilla I think the vast majority of fans would be thrilled with this. My only real concerns right now are that I don't know where this leaves Ozil - and I don't know if the club could realistically could get that large of a fee for him unless he agreed to be shipped to China - and they have no one on the roster right now that could functionally do the job that Krychowiak did in Emery's system at Sevilla.

Otherwise I'm happy with it. After all of the smoke I was mentally prepared for it be Arteta and for him to fail miserably as the sacrificial-lamb-after-the-legend. Just have to hope that the 50m summer budget rumor is false or else this team is going to let in a million goals next season.

You'll just have to take my word for it, though I do have the pictures from my seat to prove it. The person in the red coat is me.

Arsenal, as always, finding an Arsenal-like new way to lose. Outplayed Man U for 75% of that game.... two dreadful mistakes led to the 2-0 Man U lead and De Gea played an effing phenomenal game. I think I saw some metrics thingy in England the next day stating with the stats that came out of the game the expected score would have been Arsenal 5 and Man U 2. IMG_2485.JPG

I was there on a work trip. And my best friend/guy for whom I was his best man/old roommate for two years at OSU was also there for a different company on a work trip. We met later that night at Belushi's Underground. Why? Because OSU-UW in the Big 10 championship game started at 2 AM and we weren't going to miss it.

Who will Mahrez replace in City's line-up? Will they send Sterling somewhere due to the number of missed opportunities?

Obviously not Sterling. That squad is flat out SICK! Aguero, Mahrez, and Sterling get replaced with Jesus, Sane, and DeBruyne? They're a goddamn International All-Star Team. I'd confidently put their over/under loss number this year at 2.5

IMO, Liverpool leftback Robertson is the best in the league right now, because he covers his ground in the defensive area, but he also really assists the attacking players because of his attacking style of play and his immensely good crosses. So the question here is: Can Robertson be considered the best leftback in the PL?
