I’m probably the only one who cares, but I am stoked that Swans looks like they’ll stay and Cardiff is in line for auto promotion...I want the South Wales Darby back.
I've wanted Wenger gone for years now, but the fact that it's actually happening is kind of a sad realization. He's been managing Arsenal since I was 6. His early 2000s Arsenal teams are what got me into soccer. As much as people like to hype Mourinho/Guardiola, I don't think we'll see anything like the late 90s/early 2000s Wenger/Ferguson matches in the Premier League again. Selfishly I hope he's done with club management and goes for the France or England job.
My preferences are Jardim or Simeone. Wouldn't be surprised if it's someone like Enrique or Favre. I don't see Vieira going over well at this point in his career. Only experience is with the City reserves and an MLS team and, as much as fans like to bitch that Arsene never replaced him, there are a lot of older people that still aren't happy with the way that he left in 2005.
Tuchel and Sven Mislintat had problems at Dortmund. I think he's going to PSG. Not sure how Enrique and Raul Sanllehi got along. Jardim is my top choice.I have been on the 'Wenger Out' side of things for a couple of seasons. It was time to go, but yet I can still thank him for the overall contributions to the club, the EPL, and the sport. Thanks, Arsene.
My personal thoughts on 'realistic' people:
Would be happy with: Tuchel, Enrique
Wouldn't love, wouldn't hate: Rodgers, Arteta, Jardim, Ancelotti
Do not want now, perhaps as the next coach if they take a step in Euro football coaching: Vieira, Henry
Do not want: Low
For a non-realistic candidates... would be happy with Simeone, Allegri
I've seen that as the rumored reason why he didn't resign last summer, the club was unprepared to find a replacement. It also wouldn’t surprise me if they are completely unprepared in their search given the tumultuous state of management of the club the past few years but I’d like to believe not.
Either way, they needed the fire lit under their ass because they are clearly & visibly falling behind the others at the top. The recent sustained success at Spurs alone required a response to some degree. I’m just glad the whole ordeal is finally at an end & all parties can move on.I've seen that as the rumored reason why he didn't resign last summer, the club was unprepared to find a replacement.
I think the fact that they've since hired an actual director of football and head of recruitment shows that they either knew he was bowing out or they decided to push him out themselves. Personally I think this has everything to do with Kroenke not seeing his CL money.

Either way, as much as I love Arsene, I'm just happy to be out from under the all-powerful unaccountable manager idea.
