POST-UPGRADE/HACKER: What's broken, what's fixed?

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but it seems copying and pasting text/articles turns commas and quotes into question marks. I have seen it happen with Grads posts and Oh8ch's observations.

I was just coming here to say the exact same thing. In the OD forum, one of the thread titles has question marks instead of quotation marks. It's the one about Dog the Bounty Hunter.

I started a thread about that in the In-House forum...

i don't know if this has already been mentioned or not, but does anyone else have an issue trying to see all of the games in the vBookie? for instance, right now it says that there are two pages of games, i can see all the games on page one, but as soon as i click on page two or the arrow to go to the next page, it doesn't display any games. i know there are more games, since i can only view one NFL game. i have gotten around this by searching for that specific thread, but wondered if this was an issue with the site, or my machine.

Thanks

Hummm, I just checked and I'm getting the same error. I have added it to a list of site issues that Clarity will need to look into. Thanks woodster.

You should still be able to vBet those games by going to the threads within the Pro football and college football forums, in case that vCash is burning a hole in your vPocket. :wink2:

Continuous "read" of BP

Don't know if this an issue with BP, with FireFox 1.5.0.7, or some other issue.

Click on any forum link to generate a new view (i.e. go to that page). The page loads, I can navigate - but ...

the load icon in the tab shows continuous loading as if either:

The page is not fully closed (like a missing < / HTML > tag) or it is asking for something else from the database which is not being served.

Clicking on the red X icon in Firefox stops the continued loading / reading from the BP database / site.

Edit - page source shows correctly balanced tags, so is this an unresolved call to the database?

I've been noticing lately that a lot of question marks (?) have been replacing quotes (") and single-quotes/apostrophes ('). I'm assuming this has to do with some of the upgrades. I know PHP/MySQL databases are often finicky with entering quotes and single quotes, so perhaps something's happening there.

Example from Kyle Long thread:

?He?s like the governor of Ohio,? Long said. ?He was incredible. You step on campus there and meet Coach Tressel and Coach (Jim) Bollman. They?re responsible for the success Ohio State has had. You can feel football when you walk on the campus. ... It just turns you on.?

Long watched the OSU-Texas game on TV. He rooted for the Buckeyes. Games like that are a reason Long wouldn?t mind going to OSU.

?
They have all those big-named Big Ten teams, and then they play a Texas and a USC. National respect is on the line, and I?m a big respect guy,? Long said. ?Ohio State has gained the respect of everybody in the country.?

Is there anyway that I can stop this? Where it lists new posts?

Is it bothersome somehow? The answer to your question is no. No way for you to stop it. I however can, I just don't have enough information or reason to do so. Amass an army, ted, and if I hear those voices clamoring for the death of the new posts link in the welcome frame, I will smite it.

Yeah, it's a known issue I've been pursuing. I know so far that it's not the character set defined by the language setting in vBulletin, so now I've been looking at PHP and MySQL settings. Should be a short-term annoyance.
