Post 23 Season tOSU Coaching Changes

I stopped watching Josh Pate when he slobbered on Harbaugh and ignored the cheating when Harbaugh was exposed. It's entertainment, not analysis.

Chip Kelly brings something that isn't being mentioned much: He has a detailed understanding of the new teams entering the Big Ten and the West Coast players that they recruited. He understands their history, ethos, and tendencies and how weather patterns affect their stadiums. He's had more opportunities to see upcoming players in that region. Even if he is a one and done with college ball, he is going to make a very important contribution this year.

On top of that advantage, as a former head coach in the NFL, he, and possibly Day to some extent, has knowledge of how the helmet comms worked. This might give the Bucks a leg up there.

I've also heard that the new LB coach..was pretty good in the NFL and had the green dot..which could help with helmet comms as well, from both sides of the equation.

Seems like there’s great candidates, just bad timing for them. Right now these are the names being floated:

- Scottie Graham would be a solid hire but doesn’t seem interested. Just got hired in 2022. Also he posted on X that he’s “here to stay” (at Washington).

- Demarco Murray is currently at His Alma mater. But he did interview for the scum RB position in January.

- Stan Drayton is an HC at Temple (last year of his contract)

- Deshaun Foster just took over Kelly’s role at UCLA

- Eddie George isn’t interested

Regarding Coach Jordan...from his MSU Bio

"Jordan, who has been in coaching since 2012, has specialized in training elite defensive linemen the past few years while serving as CEO of Brandon Jordan Trench Performance, working with more than 200 players on NFL rosters, including Pro Bowlers Jadeveon Clowney, Cameron Heyward, Chandler Jones, Von Miller and T.J. Watt."
Impressive list of clientele

Let’s just dig up Hop Cassidy while we’re at it. lol I’m sure big-time guys can be swayed but advocating for legacy guys like Pepe just because he wrote the uniform is too much. The dude has only coached 1AA RBs, and done so at that level for many many years without advancing upwards to even smaller FBS. No knock on him as a player but is that really what is best for the team?
