I’ve only seen rumblings on the South Carolina coach, Blackwell. He declined a SC media call last week and was on much of the “Buckeye beat” radar of names. Could be a total wildcard though. No one seems to have a great guess, not even Birm or Ward.

Ohio State expecting to hire Oregon's Carlos Locklyn as new running backs coach​

The Buckeyes could finalize the deal with Locklyn as early as Monday.

Post Partum, well we got our guy. Not certain of his quality yet, but very certain of his enthusiasm. Along the way, apparently tOSU helped some of their targets get some hefty raises. As quoted before, hoping that the #1 RB who Alford was recruiting for the S&G, will flip to our new guy instead of the Wolverweenies. Go Bucks!

Feeling really good about this coaching staff top to bottom….adding James L and Kelly….wow!!

Seems like Day has culled the heard for weakness and all the fat has likely been trimmed.

Carlos has to prove himself still but seems like a home run; let’s see how he recruits. Safeties coach MG is known to Knowles so I assume that’s going to be an upgrade but he has to prove himself as well and I’ll be watching his recruiting too.

The one position to me that now is debatable is Frye. He has a history with Kelly that should help. I’ve been patient with him because the cupboards were bare and OL is the most developmental position but…..It’s put up or shut up time.

Kelly will make $200,000 more each year than Bill O’Brien was set to make as offensive coordinator. O’Brien signed a contract that would have paid him $1.8 million this year, $1.9 million next year and $2 million in 2026 before he left to become the head coach at Boston College.

Among Ohio State’s support staff, director of sports performance Mickey Marotti leads the way in salary as he is set to make $862,238 on a contract that ends in 2026. General manager of player personnel Mark Pantoni will make $351,488 this year on a one-year contract. Chief of staff Quinn Tempel will make $273,000 this year while general manager of football operations Brian Voltolini will make $266,109.

All contracted staff members are also eligible for the following bonuses:

• 8% base salary if Ohio State makes the Big Ten Championship Game, which becomes 12% if OSU wins the Big Ten Championship Game
• 10% if Ohio State makes the College Football Playoff, which becomes 20% if OSU makes the quarterfinals, 25% if OSU makes the semifinals, 30% if OSU makes the final and 35% if OSU wins the national championship
