Post 23 Season tOSU Coaching Changes

I don't buy that. I mean, maybe on bucknuts or twitter.
It's completely unsurprising Guiton is progressing as a QB coach. Cardale won a Championship for us, and not very interested in him as a coach. Similar with Braxton. I could maybe see JTB - he lacked natural ability (Neither Cardales arm nor Braxtons athleticism) but made up for it with his head.
Laurinitis wasn't just an All American LB. He grew into the on-field leader, calling out assignments, both at Ohio State and the NFL.
Nobody is surprised he's a coach.
You give Joe Buckeye Fan the choice between qualified position coach from a MAC school or a recently retired from the NFL with little to no coaching experience Buckeye.....we both know who they'd pick.

Covered that with Chambers and his lack of instincts that you can’t cram a decades worth of experience at the position into 30 practices.

So that leaves Eichenberg. He looked terrible in ‘21. He looked great blitzing in ‘22. He looked very average to bad in ‘23 not blitzing all the time.

I’m still gonna say that’s not enough evidence to say Laurinaitis can’t coach when the general consensus around the program seems to be he has what it takes to be a great coach.

I never said he can’t coach. I simply said the room he was in regressed when he took over. Which is a fact.

Whatever excuses you come up with don’t change that fact.

You said you don’t see what’s confusing about the optimism about his future. Right now, it’s all theory. None of it has been proven.

So the people on bucknuts or twitter.
And I would take Laurinitis, with all his experience, over a random MAC position coach... which is frequently just another schools alma mater (shared with Head Coach) with even less pro experience. See Mike Harts career.

Good episode where they spend some time talking about coaching changes. Starts around 10 minute mark. Jason Taylor's name comes up too. What caught my ear was them saying ability to recruit is most important thing with addition to defensive side of the staff.

Thought the same thing listening right now
And Jason Candle potentially as OC?
I'd smack my dead grandma I'd be so ecstatic
