Possible active shooter on campus - Watts Hall

But I will throw out another too early comment.

Please don't. Just not the right time.

Should be a day to bask in the afterglow of a victory ... yet it isn't. ONE Buckeye down, ALL Buckeyes down. If you aren't in a position to do more, I'm sure there are those that would welcome our simple thoughts and or prayers.

I hate the world most days. Stay safe people. Prayers for the victims.

Know the feeling.

Really hoping the one individual listed as critical pulls through.

The possibility of something like this was always in the back of my mind while my daughter was in classes at tOSU--she was there not long after the VA Tech tragedy. Can't imagine if this had happened while she was still there--ten of thousands of family members across America had a terrifying day.

Will just add that the Run Hide Fight video has an overly optimistic ending, while the perpetrator is concerned. When was the last time you saw one walk away? (Not that there's anything wrong with not, as far as my uncompassionate self is concerned.)

Situation is over. What one focuses on in terms of a message board isn't going to affect one thing - just as with a football game - and yet we all do it. Some details still to come, but I think we have a pretty good picture of what has happened here and why. It appears that no one will end up dying from this (if our one critical pulls through and my prayers remain with them and the other victims), other than the anus sphincter who perpetrated it - which is a source of satisfaction for me because I'm sure that's not quite how he envisioned the day going. Now he is in hell with his 72 mother-in-laws. That's a bad day.

Since the body count is radical Islamic Somalian refugee 0, America 1 - and that's hopefully a final - I'm going to enjoy that aspect of it. I'm also going to enjoy watching the Left struggle to defend the religion of peace, wanting to bring in more Muslim refugees, and citing gun control as a primary solution to this problem. That dadgone, worn-out narrative just keeps running into that pesky thing called reality.

Suspect Identified in Ohio State Attack as Abdul Razaq Ali Artan

An Ohio State University student plowed a car into a campus crowd, then jumped out and started stabbing people with a butcher knife before being shot dead by police Monday morning, officials said.
.
.
.
Law enforcement officials told NBC News the suspect's name is Abdul Razaq Ali Artan, an 18-year-old student at the university. He was a Somali refugee who left his homeland with his family in 2007, lived in Pakistan and then came to the United States in 2014 as a legal permanent resident of the United States, officials said.

The motive was unknown, although law enforcement sources said Artan posted a rant on social media prior to the incident. Officials said the attack was clearly deliberate and may have been planned in advance.

"This was done on purpose," Stone said.

Officials said Artan was in the car by himself, but investigators are trying to determine if anyone else was involved in the planning.

OSU President Michael Drake addressed reporters today to answer questions about the incident.

“We’re pleased that no one was injured more seriously than they were and we all know we live in an open society where these kinds of tragedies happen some place it seems on far to frequent a basis,” said Drake. “So what we do on the campus is everything we can to make the campus safe. We have multiple trainings in place… and we’re pleased with how well those work and we’re pleased with how people have responded to this tragedy today.”

UPDATES | Ohio State attacker identified as Somali refugee, OSU student

The Associated Press reports a police chief says authorities are looking into whether the attack at Ohio State University was related to terrorism.

Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs was asked at a news conference Monday afternoon whether authorities were considering the possibility that it was a terror attack.

Jacobs says, "I think we have to consider that it is."

Authorities say a man purposely plowed his car over a curb and into pedestrians on Monday morning before jumping out of the car and attacking people with a butcher knife. A police officer who was nearby because of an earlier gas leak was on the scene in a minute and shot and killed the attacker.

I'm thinking we (i.e. the Ohio State community) are very lucky that a police office was in the area and immediately responded, etc.

This season they have recognized a local police officer during each home football game. Too bad there isn't another home game to recognize this officer. It would easily break the stadium record for loudest/longest cheering/applause, etc.

Sure, I understand that people who have supported the narrative don't want to talk about WHY a bunch of students are in the hospital, but they are injured because, in part, that narrative put them at risk by being more concerned about Abdul Razag Ali Artan's feelings than identifying him as a terrorist or keeping him from coming here in the first place. Words do matter, as it turns out - as has repeatedly been demonstrated across the world, and will keep getting demonstrated until we discard the nonsense that refuses to label and name the enemy, welcomes it to come in among us, and worries about offending it instead of killing it. Yes, that kind of stupidity pisses me off.
