Chapel Hill police say two women and one man have been arrested in connection with a robbery, sexual assault and kidnapping that occurred at Chapel Ridge Apartments at Legacy Terrace.

Lieutenant Kevin Gunter with the Chapel Hill Police Department says the incident occured early Sunday morning.

According to a WCHL source, the three victims in this case were UNC football players.

Prosecutors said the players and the accused went to the victims' apartment after meeting at a downtown bar. Police found all three of the victims bound by tape, with two of them stripped to their boxer shorts. During the attack one of the suspects, 32-year-old Michael Troy Lewis, allegedly held a knife to one of the victim?s necks.

28-year-old Monique Jenice Taylor and 29-year-old Trinka Monta Washington face several charges including 1st degree sex-offense.

Uh...they had consensual sex with those women? Then, the women overwhelmed them? And, uh, why aren't they in a bowl game? :slappy:

I actually feel terrible for these players. They are publicly humiliated and probably dealing with some emotional and psychological stress from being assaulted. I don't care what they did naively, nobody asks for this to happen to them.

Stoops pulls Granger from Fiesta Bowl following arrest

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Oklahoma starting defensive tackle DeMarcus Granger will miss the Fiesta Bowl after being sent home from Arizona following an arrest for shoplifting.

Granger, 21, was arrested Saturday in Tempe after he tried to steal a jacket from the Burlington Coat Factory inside Arizona Mills Mall, Tempe police reported.

"Mr. Granger removed an anti-theft device from a jacket and then concealed the jacket in a bag. He exited the store walking past the cash registers without paying for the jacket," Mike Horn, a spokesman for the Tempe Police Department, said in a statement.

Granger admitted committing the offense and was booked into the Tempe City Jail on one count of shoplifting, Horn said. He later bonded out of jail.

The wife of South Florida linebacker Ben Moffitt told The St. Petersburg Times on Thursday that she had “written every single paper he has ever written in five years at U.S.F.”

Moffitt told numerous news media outlets that he endured the long commute so that his wife and two children, both under the age of 5, could live a better life. The St. Petersburg Times reported on its Web site that Moffitt left his wife on Nov. 11 and planned to file for divorce Thursday.
“He is living a lie,” Shauna Moffitt told the newspaper. “He’s lying to everyone.”

Wingate player, wife charged with murder of his ex-girlfriend

UNION, S.C. -- A football player at a small North Carolina university and his wife were charged with murder in the stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend, a high school cheerleader in South Carolina.


Pernell Clayton Thompson, 20, and Yolanda Dee Thompson, 19, were being held Monday at the Union County jail, accused of killing 16-year-old Marisha Jeter, police said.


Jeter was reported missing Thursday night and her body was discovered under a bridge two days later. Her car was found torched in another county.


Jeter was the junior class president, a cheerleader and honor roll student at Union County High School.


Pernell Thompson, a junior at Wingate University, was placed on interim suspension Monday, school spokeswoman Jennifer Gaskins said.

Police said Thompson's wife did not like him maintaining contact with Jeter. The Thompsons were married in the summer and have a child together.

Former Oklahoma LB Chris Collins gets 10 years probation for sexually assaulting a 12-year old girl.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Former Oklahoma State football player Chris Collins was sentenced to 10 years of probation by a Texas judge Monday for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
The jury in New Boston, Texas, had recommended five years' probation. The 20-year-old player pleaded guilty Nov. 7 to an aggravated sexual assault charge. He was one of four men charged following an after-prom party in 2004, when he was 17.

District Judge Leon F. Pesek Jr. also ordered him to register as a sex offender, perform 750 hours of community service, pay for one year of counseling for the victim and pay the court $325 for the psychologist who interviewed him, said Lisa McDermott, a spokeswoman for Bowie County District Attorney Bobby Lockhart.

Fulmer's Squad Makes Early Effort to Vie For Fulmer Cup

Three Vol Football Players Disciplined After Majirjuana Traffic Stop Incident
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer laid down the law Monday on three freshmen football players caught with marijuana in their car during a traffic stop.
Wide receivers Gerald Jones and Ahmad Paige were cited Friday for misdemeanor drug possession. No charges were made against backseat passengers William Brimfield and visiting recruit Jameel Owens from Oklahoma.
But Fulmer decided after meeting with them Monday to discipline all three 18-year-olds.
"They understand that this behavior will not be tolerated," Fulmer said.
"They have a number of things they need to do to get back in our good graces, including performing community service with a drug rehabilitation facility, participating in police ride-alongs and more frequent drug tests."
They also will be prohibited from hosting recruits for one year.

(And to get things rolling nicely, they had a visiting recruit in the back seat with them). Obviously the Vols want to smoke the opposition this year.
