University of Michigan defensive end Eugene Germany was ticketed for marijuana possession last month, according to 15th District Court records. Germany admitted responsibility and paid a $50 fine on Feb. 20 at the court in Ann Arbor.
Last week, Michigan coach Lloyd Carr said Germany would be held out of spring practices, which began Saturday. Carr declined to give a reason for his decision.
A backup, the 6-foot-2-inch, 279-pound Germany saw action in eight games and had three tackles last season.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Purdue wide receiver Selwyn Lymon was stabbed in the chest, saying he was attacked at a nightclub near the campus.
The 20-year-old player was listed in fair condition Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette after being in critical condition earlier in the day, Purdue spokesman Tom Schott said.
Lymon arrived at the hospital about 2:45 a.m. ET with a stab wound to the upper chest and told medical workers he was attacked close to the campus, said John Walker, deputy chief of West Lafayette Police Department.
Police officers were called to the parking lot of Nick's Nightclub about 2:15 a.m. ET to a report of a fight in progress. Walker said officers found about 30 people in the lot, but they dispersed without incident. Police had several witnesses to interview, Walker said.
Purdue coach Joe Tiller was awaiting more information from the police before commenting, Schott said.
Lymon, of Fort Wayne, played in 13 games, including 12 starts, last season as a sophomore. He ranked fourth on team with 33 receptions for 580 yards and three touchdowns and led Purdue with a 17.6-yard per catch average.

State College police are investigating an early Sunday burglary and assault at a downtown apartment party, and the party's hosts are alleging that Penn State football players were involved.
Police have not filed charges or named any suspects, though a press release from police indicated that all the actors had been identified.
Two residents of the apartment and four other sources present at the party, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said they identified to the police that football players were part of a group that entered a party at a third-floor Meridian II apartment, 646 E. College Ave.
