Police/Legal Blotter (stop breaking the law, asshole!)

WATCH: JUCO football player arrested for punching out ref

Yesterday we saw USC left tackle Chuma Edoga get himself ejected from a game against Utah State after getting a little bit too physical with a ref during the heat of the moment, but this video from the junior college ranks is even worse. Mt. San Antonio offensive lineman Bernard Schirmer took unsportsmanlike conduct to the next level when he allegedly punched a ref while being restrained, knocking the ref to the ground and later being taken away in handcuffs by local authorities. He was charged with suspicion of battery.

Police officers went to the broadcast booth in the stadium to immediately begin reviewing footage of the incident on the field. Police officers on the scene also began taking statements from refs working the game down at field level.

Kent State safety Nate Holley held for alleged kidnapping

Kent State senior safety Nate Holley was arrested Friday afternoon on the alleged charges of first-degree felony kidnapping.

The incident—which took place Thursday afternoon—involved an unnamed female Kent State student.

The Portage County Municipal Court defines kidnapping as "did by force, threat, or deception... restrain another of her liberty, which creates a risk of serious physical harm to the victim."

"We are aware of the situation and take this matter very seriously," University spokesman Eric Mansfield said in a statement. "He has been suspended from the team indefinitely."

The state initially wanted Holley to have a $100,000 bond, but Portage Municipal Court Judge Barbara Oswick lowered it to $50,000, citing Holley's strong community ties, his academic achievements in school and the fact that this was his first run-in with the law.

Heard this on the MSU homer station on the way home tonight. I trust based on the comments from the University President that it will be well handled. Hopefully Dantonio had no prior knowledge.

What's up with a staffer? That's not the kind of thing that bodes well for a program. That is, unless Dantonio was taking notes while listening to Cris.

And hey, who knew that sheep were covered under title IX?

Full disclosure, yes, I own that album and it's fucking awesome.

Pretty serious. If true. Dumb dumb dumb dumb

http://www.omaha.com/news/crime/fel...cle_6fbc75e0-fa40-11e6-9bab-4b53c8b45c09.html

Authorities on Thursday issued a felony warrant charging Creighton University basketball player Maurice Watson Jr. with first-degree sexual assault.

According to police, a 19-year-old woman told them she had been assaulted in the bathroom of a residence near 33rd Street and Poppleton Avenue about 3 a.m. on Feb. 4. The woman identified Watson as her assailant. Police were first called to the Nebraska Medical Center to take a report on the assault.

The young woman is a Creighton student who was an acquaintance of Watson’s, according to a source familiar with the investigation.

Thursday morning, the woman met with Omaha police and Douglas County prosecutors for about an hour at the County Attorney’s Office.

Officer Phil Anson, an Omaha police spokesman, said the Omaha Metro Fugitive Task Force was attempting to locate the 23-year-old Watson and arrest him.

Watson was a standout point guard with Creighton’s team before being sidelined by an injury. Creighton announced Wednesday that it had suspended Watson from the team more than a week ago for an undisclosed violation of university rules.

TTUN former CB, Jourdan Lewis arrested on DV charge... Oh those "*ichigan men"

I know he played for scUM but this has the feel of the Ezekiel Elliott situation (minus injuries to the "victim" or whatever you want to call them.) The woman had no visible signs of injury but claimed an assault happened. Police released him at the scene. I'm always skeptical when these things happen right before a payday. The NFL will launch a full year-long investigation, however.

Eze was not charged. JL has been charged. Presumably the charge was based on some sort of evidence.
