Oklahoma has a huge season opener at a neutral field against Houston to kick off 2016 in a couple of months. Whether their top returning threat in the receiving game is on the field remains to be seen.

According to multiple media outlets, Sooners wide receiver Dede Westbrook was arrested late Monday morning on a charge of criminal trespassing. The arrest occurred in Westbrook’s hometown of Cameron, Tex.

No details of what led to the arrest have been released. An OU spokesperson said in a statement that “[w]e’re aware of it and are addressing internally.”

With Sterling Shepard off to the NFL, Westbrook is OU’s leading returning receiver.

Auburn defensive back Stephen Roberts was arrested on charges of attempting to elude an officer and for possessing a firearm without a license.

Roberts was arrested at 9:53 p.m. Wednesday night during a traffic stop at the intersection of Harmon Drive and E Veterans Blvd. in Auburn, according to the arrest report provided to AL.com, which lists the firearm in Roberts' possession without a permit as a handgun.

Auburn Police Capt. Lorenza Dorsey told AL.com Roberts was "a passenger in a vehicle and fled from officers during a traffic stop."

The Opelika native was then taken to the Lee County Detention Center, where he was booked at 10:40 p.m., according to Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones, who said Roberts was released, with each charge having a bond of $1,000, later Wednesday night.

Counting the Muirfield incident about 3 years ago, football players do not seem to have a good record of evading police, despite their above average speed.

On the other hand, tackling the officer may have a higher odds of success, but leaves the question of "ok, what next?"

Story would be better if they'd robbed her with boat oars.
